D'Oh

The cost of Vaclav Prospal's acquiring last season just went up.

Reading the Times coverage of the draft lottery, I was reminded we have no 2nd round draft choice (#31 overall) nor 3rd round draft choice (90 overall) which was sent away for extra draft picks in 2004.

#91 is our second seleciton. Yeowch

Hey, John, that’s the price the Bolts have to pay for success. After years of drafting high, the Lightning will now have to get used to sniffing out quality talent with lower picks.

Even if there hadn’t been a lockout and no requirement for a draft lottery, the odds are strong the Bolts would’ve been a Cup contender, possibly even a finalist or a repeat champion, so any possibility in moving up in the draft selection for this year would’ve been minimal at best.
