Stumbling out of the blocks

I can't watch.... I can't watch.... I can't watch. This is NOT the way to re-start the season.

6-0 Panthers in the 2nd. Someone please get me when the Lightning return from Turin?

I’m embarrased to admit I walked out to have a smoke at the end of the second…and just kept going. 7-0 at that point. I’m sure Torts is his happy, singing, skipping self right about now.

The first period was ticking away – almost over – and they cut to a shot of Tortorella who looked like his head was going to blow off. He wa so PISSED and he knew it was going to be one of those nights. I mean… I’ve seen John angry before but he was just far and away gone already. The period ended and I thought he’d end up running over Dan Boyle to get to the locker room so he could scream.

What was up with Brad Richard’s 14 mins in penalties? I never did see what he got the game misconduct for.

Also, why was Modin here and not partying in Sweden?

To answer Ali’s question I do not know this for sure but I saw Brad slam his stick when he was in the penalty box and the rest is history. If there is anything positive to take away from the that terrible game… how about Artyukhin? I love his energy and that was some amazing hits he was throwing.

The only thing worth watching in last night’s dismal game was Artyukhin’s lightning jabs—no wonder Gratton chickened out and pulled Took’s jersey over his head. Can’t wait to see if Took and Kovalchuk go at it at the next Thrashers game—Took’s coach called him a “monster” and Kovalchuk’s “a force of nature.” Someone should slam Kovalchuk for giving Kubina a concussion in Torino. Here’s hoping we see stronger skating on Saturday night!
