Scarfing down a couple tuna melts before heading over to the Forum. Listened to Steve Duemig on the way home, and even he seems excited about this game…or as excited as he can be about something that’s not gambling or golf.
Time to go. C’mon Bolts, I need this.

On vacation, I have no radio or tv broadcast available. Is there an internet solution for me? If not keep me posted.

Well, do you have speakers Tiny? You can pick up the radio broadcasts through NHL.com or Yahoo.com
Don’t know if WDAE does a live audio stream or not

LINE SHAKEUP! Afanasenkov, Richards and Fedotenko on the top line. Whoa.

Pre-game beer run… hopefully nothing important will happen w/in the first 5-10 minutes of the game.
For tiny: the direct link to WDAE’s feed is:
http://www.620wdae.com/cc-common/streaming_new/index.html?refreshed=yes
Just checked it, and it works just fine.

Gary, don’t take your friggin’ time this time! :p :)
If Alex comes around, will you make sure your brother has a case at his place next time before a game starts? Thanks. :)

JF: There’s nothing I can do about the time it takes to run to the 7-11. The local popo’s have my street blocked off for some reason… I’ll have to hoof it, if they’ll let me through. Go Bolts!

Outshooting the Thrashers 3-1 but there has been twice as much play in the neutral zone/the Lightning’s own end than the Lightning attacking. So the shot total surprises me.

I’d rather come back to a lead. Hrm… “suspicious package” is the reason for the road closure. Hopefully the Lightning will drop a “bomb” on Atlanta tonight. Ugh. I know.

Amen, Gary.
I want to know from anyone on BM tonight — is it just me or does Lecavalier almost seem invisible out there lately?
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 8:05 PM EST reply actions
Looks like he’s not doing so well on the face-offs, either. Another Tampa Bay flowerplay.

I missed the Affy goal—and despite them outshooting the Thrashers 8-5 (according to Peckham)—I can’t see anyone on the ice working like they want to win this game. I guess, at this point, we’re lucky they’re up by one after the first. Perhaps I should be watching the Caps game? ;)

they just seem so focused on playing defense that they can’t get shit done on offense. It’s frustrating
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 8:18 PM EST reply actions
IMHO, there is no reason that Tortorella should keep putting Sarich on the point. He’s a sieve on the blueline during the pp.
by Gary on Mar 30, 2006 8:32 PM EST reply actions
The problem is — they don’t want to take risks with untried players right now. It’s sorta the anti-thesis of “Safe is Death” They’d have called up Egener and Dicaire if they weren’t playing it safe but instead playing with the best potential from Springfield.

It’s kind of sad when your 3rd or 4th line spends more even-strength time in the offensive zone than your “hero” line. Sorry to be so negative, but they’re suckin’ ass tonight.

That says something Gary —
It says “Who’s worse? Tampa Bay, injury riddled, or Atlanta?”
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 8:46 PM EST reply actions
Affy gets the Duece! Is this his coming out party?
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 8:54 PM EST reply actions
3-0! Oh, please Grahame don’t screw this one up…
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 8:56 PM EST reply actions
Holy moly. Toolman.
I was just about to ask why the Bolts kept trying to stuff the puck in at the post when Lehtonen has been stopping them all night.
Then, Taylor answers my question.
by Gary on Mar 30, 2006 8:57 PM EST reply actions
I’m going to say it again, this really tells you something… Whos worse? Tampa Bay, injury riddled, or Atlanta?
Right now, the glaring answer is Atlanta. And they are doing what they can to prove it.

Caps aside… yet strangely related to the Bolts: Stanley Cup Champion Ben Clymer scored to tie the game against the Habs. Assist to Calder Trophy shoe-in Ovechkin. Back to your 2nd intermission regularly-scheduled commercials.

JF: Apparently your spam comments filter is set for stun. No Caps posts allowed. ;)
by Gary on Mar 30, 2006 9:13 PM EST reply actions
You kidding? BRB — I wanna see what Spam Karma ranked as spam…
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 9:14 PM EST reply actions
Where did you post that one from, Gary? Spam Karma was giving you minus-points for having a browser that doesn’t have javascript, and it also said you had no recent comments on the site (bullshit, I know).
I’ll have you register with BM so you get around that shit in the future.

Later on, Gary (and every other regular commentor on Boltsmag) — go here: http://www.boltsmag.com/wp-register.php
Register your screen name and you shouldn’t be hasseled again by my anti-spam programs, or having to log in to comment (unless you somehow get logged out of Boltsmag)

JF: Same browser as all the other comments, with JavaScript turned on (as usual). I’ve been having router troubles all night (Airport base station took a giant shit on me), so maybe my IP addy changed? Although, that doesn’t explain why the subsequent post went through…
by Gary on Mar 30, 2006 9:21 PM EST reply actions
exactly. Just consider it an anomoly.
Atlanta isn’t playing like they want this.
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 9:27 PM EST reply actions
Ranger, baby. I wonder who I should vote for in your poll.
by Gary on Mar 30, 2006 9:31 PM EST reply actions
I voted for Paul cuz defense is overlooked. His importance has gone up a notch during this time of adversity with Boyle and Kubina out…
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 9:32 PM EST reply actions
Artyuhkin did that whole head smashing thing, though… it’s a toss-up.
by Gary on Mar 30, 2006 9:38 PM EST reply actions
He’s got 4 minutes to blow the game. I don’t think the guys in front of him will allow it to happen.
You gotta love the effort — even if they’ve looked bad at times — by the beleaguered Bolts.
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 9:46 PM EST reply actions
Holy shit. I’ve been watching the Caps game (tied the score w/ 2.5 seconds left in the third). Atlanta has scored twice in 4 minutes?
by Gary on Mar 30, 2006 9:54 PM EST reply actions
Yeah… They do that shit too often.
Keep us posted on the Caps game, we’re effected by the outcome… GO CAPITALS!
by John F. on Mar 30, 2006 10:06 PM EST reply actions
Back home. 4-3 Bolts.
Weird crowd…lottsa folks, not much noise. Very late arriving, too.
Vinnie looked like he was doing his compulsory figures at times. Not really in the game. Dunno what’s up with that. The Lightning showed glimpses of brilliance, out-muscling the Thrashers for minutes at a time in the offensive zone — and then just kind of quitting.
Oh, well. The end result is the same.
by Mike on Mar 30, 2006 10:39 PM EST reply actions
Way after the fact: Caps stole a point from the Habs, but they trickled one past Kolzig (I thought he had it) in OT to get two points.

F’in dial up! I couldn’t keep a connection all night. Maybe the call waiting?
Thanks for the recap everyone (wow 50 comments!). Not to pat my own back but I’ve been saying Torts never gave Affy a chance with decent linemates. I believe I said you can’t put a scorer with “bangers and mash” players and expect serious output.
