Early PP for Atlanta and they are up 1-0…

by John F. on Feb 22, 2007 7:12 PM EST reply actions

‘Lanna looks like they’re more serious about this. So far, anyway.

I figured we would see this. The Lightning have been very fortunate the last few days. They haven’t put there all into things and they still have taken points home because of it.

Tonight will truly be a yardstick — keep the roster together or overpay to improve?

Is it just me or is the audio on this telecast pathetic at best?

Dunno…I’ve got Mishkin on. For once the radio is synch’d with the TV.

2-0 ATL. Surprised this is not a blowout for Atlanta yet.

Man, that was a hard shot. Brad knocks it thru the back of the net!

I personally think the call on Sim was a bad call… but I’ll take the Vinny goal either way. Party Marty got some hustle in his diminutive pants for the primary assist on that second goal, too.

Here’s hoping the Bolts can keep the Thrashers from embarrassing them effort-wise in the third… unlike what happened in the first.

And bondra puts the BOlts back in there place. Ouch

ROY?!? ROY?!?

ROY!!!!

4 all!

by John F. on Feb 22, 2007 9:02 PM EST reply actions

Dude… it was Roy. (pinching myself)

by Gary on Feb 22, 2007 9:05 PM EST reply actions

…Roy?!?!

Oh, PLEASE don’t let this go to OT guys. If you can win it — win it in Regulation. If they win it PERIOD it’s theft by the Lightning (after that horrid start) but I would prefer 2 points for us and ZERO for the ATL.

by John F. on Feb 22, 2007 9:10 PM EST reply actions

Amen, brother. No overtime.

by Gary on Feb 22, 2007 9:12 PM EST reply actions

Roy almost had his second of the season… but just couldn’t push in that lonely meatball stalling in the crease.

I almost crapped myself just now…

by Gary on Feb 22, 2007 9:16 PM EST reply actions

Jeez! Andre is en fuego…

Cripes, have the Lightning been blowing their gritty winger need by having him play as a 4th liner? One game, I know, it’s just one game… but jeez…

by John F. on Feb 22, 2007 9:16 PM EST reply actions

A couple of months ago, I would have said the Lightning were blowing a lot of things… but Roy as a gritty winger wouldn’t have been one of ’em. :)

Note to self — work on your wording, Fontana…

by John F. on Feb 22, 2007 9:22 PM EST reply actions

Ill timed holding penalty on Atlanta.

Not that it’ll help much.

by Gary on Feb 22, 2007 9:29 PM EST reply actions

Uh… ill timed penalty on the Bolts.

This blows. :)

by Gary on Feb 22, 2007 9:31 PM EST reply actions

Crap. At best a one point lead on Atlanta in the standings, at worst a defect.

by John F. on Feb 22, 2007 9:35 PM EST reply actions

JF: Neither of us should have mentioned overtime. Now, it’s just a point separating the teams either way (better if the Bolts win). Plus, I don’t like the idea of 4 on 3 against… even if it’s only for 40 seconds.

by Gary on Feb 22, 2007 9:36 PM EST reply actions

PARTY MARTY wins the game.

Fucking awesome.

SANNNNNNNNNNNNN LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUIS!

by John F. on Feb 22, 2007 9:42 PM EST reply actions

I dumped my popcorn. That was awesome.

Sorry for the previous profanity… but I think it was well deserved.

Our DVR cannot record two shows at the same time if you’re not watching one of them. So I nixed the scheduled CSI recording (Grey’s Anatomy was the other), and forced The Wife upstairs during the remainder of the game.

Apparently, I was being really loud. When I ran upstairs to deliver good news to The Wife, she didn’t even look at me, and already had her hand up for the requisite high-five.

Not the best game the Bolts have played… but the best game they played tonight. :)

The timing of this game was perfect — I got to watch the Office instead of the 2nd Intermission. Yay…

ROY?!? ANDRE Roy?!?!?

Can you believe who sportsline.com has picked as their 3 stars of the game. 1) Hossa, 2) St. Louis, 3) Belanger. It figures, still no respect for the Bolts even when they win against the team they were tied with for first.

My three stars were 1) Marty St. louis for the game winner, 2) Andre Roy for the tying goal and the physical play, 3) Brad Richards for his husstle, goal and dynamic play. How can you even give a star to the “Trashers” for any of those weak gimme and lucky goals.

Defense lokked really weak in clearing out the puck. Nolan Pratt was caught sleeping in the first period and let one get by him (between his legs) Philip Kuba had probably the weakest game Ive ever seen him play. Doug Janic couple of bad passes, Paul Ranger got bailed out by Denis and so did Sarich. Defense has got to be able to clear the zone allot more effectively. The Hot Bruins are next and have won 7 out of their last 10 and are playing allot better than the “Trashers.”

I can’t believe I missed this game.
Roy!!!! He’s been a visible shot in the arm for the whole team every time he’s out there. I’ve been tootin his horn for a while and the last two home games the crown has been chanting for him. Get the hint Torts!
Maybe he’ll get some real ice time tonight.
