PrintRJ at Bolts Blog made mention of the same old rumor, making the same old rounds: Vincent Lecavalier is going to Montreal! Les Habs will sell the farm for Vinny! It'll happen! It'll happen! It'll...
**sigh** It'll never end, will it?
Let me simply quote Lyle Richardson over at Spectors Hockey (this quote lifted from a Michael Ryder news post):
And no, Habs fans, it won't be for Vincent Lecavalier, Brad Richards or Patrick Marleau. Those are pipe dreams, ain't gonna happen, so get over it.
The same pipe dreams, year after year after year.

Heh! It just never stops, eh John? Still, most Habs fans don’t buy into this nonsense. Sure, we’d love to see Vinny wearing number 44 (as 4 was Beliveau’s number and it’s been retired)and centering the Habs first line, but the earliest possibility for that is the 2009-10 season, if the Bolts let him go via free agency, and if the Habs can win the bidding war for his services.

Right, there are reasonable arguments and responses for what can happen for Lecavalier and you know the realistic ones… It’s the non-realistic ones that get credence of some Hab fans (wishful thinking) that just seems to insult anyone with a brain and drive us crazy.
