Wonder if the World Series actually is effecting attendance tonight?
After all, Tampa is spring home to the Yankees (and the Steinbrenner’s are involved int eh community and the good ol’ boy network locally) and the Phillies have trained in Clearwater for 50 years and have loyalists in the area too.

They’re not overdoing the passing so much as they’re looking for the perfect shot. Just shoot the darned thing. Even if it doesn’t go on net, someone off the Lightning ought to be hanging around the front of the net to try to chip it in.

Got a new (old) idea for a story during the 1st that I need to work on in the comind days
…well, if there is no other news.
When I wrote how I hated the draft this summer, I mentioned a failing by TSN. I think I coudl cease on the point with more central scouting ranking due out in the coming weeks and the WJC’s this winter… That’s when a good deal of the filming of prospects will be done…

I’m still trying to come up with something to write about, but I keep drawing a blank. I keep coming back to the Olympics, so maybe I’ll do something with that. I just haven’t found much that has sparked my interest. These long layoffs between games doesn’t help, either. It’s not quite “out of sight, out of mind”, but it’s definitely leaning that way some days.

So while the Lightning are winning 1-0 after the first, they’re being outshot 9-5 by Ottawa – Stamkos with two of those for the Bolts. Tampa Bay is rocking the faceoff circles with a team overall 87% winning percentage, tho. Hale’s got two hits, Foster has two giveaways, Hedman with 8:11 of ice time – leading all Lightning players, of course. And Tampa Bay is 1 of 2 on the power play so far.

It’s been in the 50s & 60s here. Just past peak with the leaves changing color. A little rainy now and then. It’s a bit warmer than what I’m used to this time of year, having lived in other places, but that’s alright.

Oh we love our us teams, but we would like a couple extra up here that’s all…or at least people in ontario do. Me, it doesn’t effect me much, but I would like to see one in Seattle or Portland

Didn’t get to see a lot of it, but they played much better than they did last time they played Ottawa. The PP worked pretty good against a very good PK team. That’s a pleasant surprise. And good for Alex to get that monkey off his back too. Guess that monkey will have to go find another locker room to inhabit now….

I thought there was more than you're saying
“Flat-footed” seems wrong. I don’t think Ottawa was firing on all cylinders and in teh 3rd both teams looked sloppy… But I thought both teams had jump early on and Ottawa came on strong at the end.
It’s good to see the other liens contributing… though “getting Vinny and Alex started” goes beyond one goal each…
