I personally...
Do not plan to be around for this one.
To strive, to seek, to find, and to forever keep it Raw. Raw Charge.
As will we, but Alix’s computer has, how should I put this… no power supply. But we’re watching in glorious HD. MIght pop in later. Go Bolts!

Where are you watching tonight, darling?

What is it with people not liking Getzlaf?
The one time I saw a hockey game live was Sharks vs Ducks. There was this very enthuasic woman sitting right behind me who kept screaming howm much she hated Getzlaf every time he skated past. (rather entertaining).
He’s got a bit of a rap as an asshole out west here. We see him a lot. Actually, the Ducks are a pretty reviled team.

Fair enough, dont know enough to pass comment.
So far the lightning stats show they are outshooting the Ducks. Is this being reflected in the way the game is going?
To me it seems like Anaheim’s had the better chances overall, but Tampa’s pretty persistent in the Ducks end. The shots are just poorer quality.
We’re busy talking about Rick Tocchet here on the couch. It’s also REALLY nice to finally see a Tampa game in HD. We get them on TSN occasionally (i.e. when they play Ottawa), but never an American broadcast.

And 2-0
What’s this newfangled thing called a penalty kill? I’ve heard about those.

krajicek gives anaheim their 2nd pp
and within 10 seconds they score. another crisp passing play.

Yeah, unfortunately sounds like Hiller is doing what he does best.
At least we outshot the Ducks for a change. Now we just need to find the back of the net at least 3 times in the next 2 periods.
Hiller’s mostly just stood there. The best chance was Malone missing the rebound that Lecavalier gave him on the 2-on-1. Sidebar: Anaheim cameras pointed at the ice are a little overly blue.

Its beer o’clock now so will be going, but thank you for the commentary and hopefully there will be an amazing come-back for the rest of the game (though checking the score, it doesn’t look like it will.)
the amazing comeback has begun
after ryan scored anaheim’s 3rd pp goal to make it 3-0, halpern and stamkos have suddenly made this interesting.
stamkos’ goal was especially awesome. check out a replay. well worth the watch.

And in case you didn’t know, they would like to remind you: Steven Stamkos is 19.
Just in case you missed that. He’s 19.

meszaros
was already having a forgettable game before he immediately followed up an unforced turnover with a high stick.
4, 26, 91, 77
i stand corrected
ryan sold a high stick call there.

great night for radio
just joining…long time reader first time poster…
I gotta say thay so far i’s been a great night for radio. Mishkin’s got me po’ed and rootin for our boys!
On TV the Ducks announcers said it was a great penalty because Halpern was going to get into the zone unimpeded.
They missed that the penalty was called at 19:59. Well done. Hey, at least it’s in HD (do you hear me, SUN? H.D. HD.)

Ha! Thanks, Marchant.
“Oh yeah Ducks announcers, that was a really good penalty to take.”

sounds like the refs are aware that this game won’t be watched by many folks back here in the REAL bay area :-)
Don’t knock the Bay Area. For one, that’s way north of Anaheim. For two, hey, I’m watching! Course, I’m one of the trio of folks in Vancouver who pay attention to the Lightning and post here, but I am watching.

Only caught half of it, but I saw Chris Phillips score two goals in five minutes (!!)
The win’s a little hollow since it was Gonchar, Eaton, and the Scranton Four on D for Pittsburgh, but I’ll take what I can get. Chased Fleury.

sigh…do you not believe in bad luck…we all are thinkin the c word…but you’re not supposed to talk about it b4 the ref picks up the puck for the last time in that game
That’s just for shutouts.

mishkin said the stamkos goal was already on you tube, but I sure can’t find it with my phone. Anyone have a link?
HE’S JUST 19!
This is all the Ducks announcers are saying about him, every chance they get. I mean, I’m glad I have Centre Ice, and I love that I can finally see the Lightning in HD, but sheesh.

c’mon boys…put the dagger in their hearts.

They’re the same refs that do games out east. They move around a lot. Seriously. Read a game summary or two.

We’ve been saying it every two minutes here after the eighth time they mentioned it on TV. And they chime in every few minutes, too.

Should’ve been here. We had spaghetti, and chips, and gin and tonics…
…and we learned that Stamkos is just 19.

Yeah, but they’ll check his ID, because he is, after all, only 19.
Do they mention this on every road broadcast?

Niedermayer looked embarrassed.

Niedermayer tossed a stick into the stands for a little girl when named first star, and about eight (seriously) people started brawling for it. Scotty looked depressed. At least they got him on the PA saying who it was for.

Might see us in the stands. Probably not, our tickets aren’t that good, but we’ll be there. Cheers.

That’s what Alix has been saying. As long as I don’t see Raycroft tomorrow, I’m happy. Saw him once last year. That was more than enough.
Go Avs.

I think you should be saying that you hope you don’t see Budaj there…that game against the Oilers…..
…was awful.
I’m taking her skating at UBC before the game. Debating on whether or not to bring the camera.

Wow. I’m impressed that so many people participated without John, Tina, and I around to get it started and keeping it going. Too bad the game wasn’t better. They couldn’t get a win, but at least they got a point – especially considering how things started out. Thanks for stopping by, everyone!
