I’m here before John? What’s the world coming to!
I think I need to get some white fudge covered oreos to fortify myself first. I’ll be back. And probably sooner rather than later, too.

With gamecenter live I got to see the Phoenix game. Didn’t stay up for the Anaheim game though… those west coast games when I’m on the east coast don’t work for me too well….

Nope. Goonies was filmed in Oregon – Canon Beach. Neither Pittsburgh or Atlanta are on the coast. Sorry.

they aren't too bad this season.
They beat VaTech today. Not that the party boyz in Chapel Hill need any real reason to have a party…. Football is just an excuse to waste time until the ACC basketball season starts….
They beat Tech? I see that work won’t be a happy place on Monday. I’ll have to remember to not say anything about college football….

So. The Lighting are being outshot 10-9; St. Louis has three shots, while Meszaros and Lecavalier each have two. They’re also dominating in the faceoff circle, the team having won 74% of all faceoffs; Stamkos is 4-0 (100%) and Konopka is 4-1 (80%). Downie has three hits. Walker has three blocked shots.
Good stuff so far.

I am seriously hoping SportSouth is carrying the game so I can see it tomorrow too. It’s not on gamecenter, just like tonight’s isn’t. Well it is, but I’m in the “home territory” of both Hurricanes and Thrashers (Not sure how the heck THAT happened….) so they don’t show them, even if the network doesn’t either.

So you don’t get Bolts-Caps games on Gamecenter then. But I’m thinking the Caps probably have a more consistent broadcast for games than the haphazard approach FS South has. They don’t know whether they want to show hockey, football, basketball or “other” crap…LOL

I get Lightning-Caps games on TV – only that’s pretty much a guarantee on TV. The Caps are very popular around here. Although, going to a game in DC is very similar to going to a game in Nashville. Weird, but true.

So it just occurred to me. The Lightning have a defense coach, they have a goaltending coach, they have a power play coach. So who covers the forwards – Walz? And if he does that, then what does Tocchet do?

Never heard the answer to that one. I was under the impression that Walz changes out the forwards. I guess Tocchet’s job is to stand there and glower at the refs when they make questionable calls?

Are they taking the football approach to coaching? Next thing you know, there’ll be a centers coach, and LW coach, and a RW coach. You don’t need that many coaches in hockey.

Not blaming Walker for the loss
His skating is a liability. It’s beyond ugly. I can’t help but comment on it.

Better get used to it though…. They paid too much to sign him then sit him or send him to Norfolk…
by Tina Robinson on Nov 21, 2009 9:34 PM EST up reply actions
Eh
Walker compensates for his skating by solid positioning and conservative play.
On the third goal, he wasn’t playing to his strengths. Trying to pinch, caught reaching while off-balance after barely managing to push the puck forward with one hand.
He shouldn’t have been out there. And this is how the absence of Ohlund and Ranger hurts. Walker shouldn’t see more than 15:00 min a night.

Like Krajicek last year
Lukas was getting too much ice time and made to look like a fool. And Krajicek reminded me of Cory Cross from the past — a bottom pair D man playing in the top pairing.

only Carolina's second regulation win of the season
I’d rip the team a new one if I was Tocchet, but they have plenty of new ones already (or should)

Or we just got humiliated. It’s subjective which answer you choose.

From an ego perspective, they’re back. From a motivational perspective, I’d say they just got humiliated.

Seriously. They’re on their fourth starting goaltender this season. Yes, that’s right. Fourth. It’d be like last season’s Bolts beating them at this point.

We got humliated.
They didn’t have their franchise goalie or center.
Tired or not, the offense was offensive. They are getting outshot on a nightly basis.
Something’s gotta give.

The outshot part is what bugs me the most
They also leave their goalies out to dry. It’s one thing to get outshot 17-16, it’s another to get outshot 32-28 or whatever. They’re not limiting the opposition and they are not taking chances on their own.

meszaros + 1st for...?
don’t really want to trade 14 but it’s either him or ranger in the offseason. assuming ranger returns, he might be a more affordable option with similar or even better productivity. just thought.
on the other hand…you have have talent waiting in the wings. ashton, harju and panik will get long looks next season. maybe Tyrell. there’s a real opportunity to be had if this hole is not filled via trade or free agency.
