Cassie, I'm using common sense for a team from the south
I’m not saying :“you can’t play in these conditions” — I love games in these conditions. I AM saying a football team that plays in the heat is not going to excell in the cold. Playing a conservative run-based offense makes sense considering the kids are in the heat the majority of the year.

I never got that FSU would start their games at 3:30 in the afternoon when it was 95º outside. That totally baffled me. They should’ve done night games with the heat and humidity, but rarely did.

But you noticed they wore white at home more times than not?
…while opponents wore dark colors? It’s to use the heat to their advantage. Dark colors take in more heat.
USF played mroe night games than mid-day games, but it’s still 90 degrees at game time.

He’s a total beast. Not only does he have an arm, but he can run the ball as well as any of the WR and RBs. He’s got one more year of eligibility, and I think he’ll stick it out in Washington for another year. One of the best QBs that I’ve seen in a while.

I’ve watched portions of a couple of their games and was impressed. He was definitely versatile.
And of course I’ve seen his highlight reel material. Hope he sticks it out next year and Washington turns it around up there.

He’s been redshirted twice, so he’s a bit older than you’d expect. But I think he’ll stay because he’ll want to be part of the turn around with the team. He’ll want to end it on a good note, and after this season’s sporadic bursts of goodness, next season looks to be very promising.

Shots are even at seven apiece; Meszaros has three of those seven lightning shots all by his little lonesome. Good on the faceoffs, winning 57%; Lecavalier is 3-2 (60%), Konopka is 2-0 (100%), and Stamkos is 1-2 (33%). The Lightning are out-hitting the Islander 10-4; Hale has three hits. Oh, and Ohlund has two blocked shots.

I was less than wowwed by the trailers that came out a few months ago. I’ve seen more footage since and it’s grown on me. NOt that much, but it’s grown on me. Looks more stunning than I thought.

I saw footage on HBO — first look stuff. Saw acting clips and the translation programs and what not. It’s technologically a wonder, that is for sure.

The Bolts have the edge in shots, 19-16; Meszaros has five shots, St. Louis has three. They’re dominating in faceoffs, winning 60%; Lecavalier is 5-4 (56%) and Stamkos is now 6-5 (55%). They’re still out-hitting the Islanders, now 12-4; Hale has three hits while Malone has two. Ohlund has four blocked shots and Hedman has two turnovers.

Dinger needs the goatee back or shave all of the facial hair off… that mustache alone is atrocious!
On him, it just doesn’t work. I kinda like facial hair – depending on the guy, of course – but pulling off just a mustache is a feat that most men can’t do.

If a team makes the mistake of not taking Boise State seriously, then they deserve what they get.
I’m hoping Nebraska takes down Texas. Then three of the top four teams will be non-BCS teams – and all four, including Alabama, are undefeated. Anything to make the BCS look as stupid as it really is. Otherwise, it’ll be a Texas-Alabama matchup for the National Championship.

Much better result. They didn’t have a “collapse”. But have to remember who the opponent was… but they were playing on the second night of back to back games and they didn’t looked at all gassed. They can recoup and get ready for the Craps,,,uh, I mean Caps…Monday night.

Personally, I'd rather them make him wait to serve that suspension AFTER the injury was healed.

It’s like I’ve said. They’re going thru the motions to protect players without actually protecting them. The league did that deliberately. They want their star players to play because that’s their brand recognition, and so they bend the rules for some guys. It’s just another example of the NHL being a good ol’ boys network.

I thought they played a much better game, but they still need a lot of work. They didn’t collapse as much defensively, but challenged more – which is definitely a good thing. But they still aren’t quite clicking like they should be.
