the third jersey
It’s been the true highlight. That’s one sharp outfit.
It’s also a sad declaration that a uniform is the best thing that’s come this season.

Post concussion syndrom
Remember that’s ended several Bolts careers in the past. that is a messy, messy thing.

Soon there will be as many Leafs fans here as there are at the game.

Can you really get that many on here?
I mean, besides the Leafs at the Forum tonight they got the Blue Jays playing in Dunedin (true fact – they train about 5 miles from where I live, during the spring I mean).
Anyway they do tend to come out in mass during these spring games and for good reason: Tampa Bay is Snow Birds.

I like this blog because you stole our color scheme.

Juice the deal
Senators or the mixed bag alotment of regional rivals and the Flyers… Hmmm… lemme think. No.

raw charge?
not bad. make it ‘raw power’, make iggy pop your mascot, and i think you’ve got a winner.
I've gotta say...
Raw Charge can give Matchsticks and Gasoline a run for it’s money for best logo on SBN.

I know :( I’m such a bitch.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Wait.
Chemmy just told you to be nice?
Headfuck.

He’s waiting to make some horribly inappropriate joke.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
you only WISH Saw VI was just someone beating a dead horse..
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
This commercial
is so inspirational but yet the team still sucks hard.
Swav or Die.
by SRQman on Mar 17, 2009 7:56 PM EDT reply actions 1 recs
You’ll have to be more specific. That could apply to either team.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Lightning
They talk about Lightning = unstoppable force and etc. Then commercial ends and other team scores most likely.
Swav or Die.
Yeah
That’s like all of our commercials.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
No
But they get scored on after commercials.

McGuire looks like Tocchet’s little brother.

McGuire would Imhotep’s younger brother. No magical powers just the curse.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
What?
A penalty against the Leafs!?!? You can’t call that against the home team! Wait…
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Petiot
So do you guys like him?
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Damn
Or good? I am confused.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
good. 4 pt game, atlanta lighting things up… we’ve still got a shot at tavares.
but also good if we win, because that means our AHL team is better than lecavalstamklouis.
can’t lose really.
Not bad
There’s the silver lining.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Yeah
Way to trick everyone with that good start to the season.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
So
Since the Rays used up all of Tampa’s good luck for the decade who are you guys drafting third overall?
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
It was all Nate Silver’s voodoo ;)
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Sorry
Strategically sucking for most of their existence.
Don’t worry, the Jays have been trying that out too.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Oh
Don’t worry, I hate JP. He’s horrible.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Um, we got a cup?
and a Super Bowl Ring this decade. The last of the luck, maybe… but not “all the luck”
by John Fontana on Mar 17, 2009 8:04 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah
‘the rest of the decade’ is what I meant.
And that Stanley Cup didn’t happen. Same with Carolina’s.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
OK, I'm going to say it...
…as ill advised as it is:
I guess the majority of Cup winners south of the border since 1967 didn’t happen either, right? :-p

I think you mean that the Rays used up all of Tampa's good management decisions.

Or good ownership decisions…

Sure, having the foresight to hire good management then stay hands off through the building process.
I wonder how that would work with the Bolts.
by R.J. Anderson on Mar 17, 2009 8:07 PM EDT up reply actions
You mean Len Barrie and Oren Koules aren’t doing that?
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
The sane, thoughtful, coherent
…logical ownership decisions.
And so I can get this out here: I lament the passing of Bill Davidson. Palace Sports is a world class entertainment/sports ownership company.
by John Fontana on Mar 17, 2009 8:09 PM EDT up reply actions
Good management decisions?
They just sucked for over a decade, any team that comes essentially dead last for 10 years better draft some real talent.
BWHAHAHAHA
You should go over to their sites and tell them that. Poor bastards.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Oh good lord.
Most of the Rays roster is built through trades. The Phillies had more production from their first round picks last season than the Rays.
by R.J. Anderson on Mar 17, 2009 8:08 PM EDT up reply actions
Hi Evan.
Rays
Acquired Win Value
1st Round 9.4
2nd Round 3
F. Agent 8.2
Trade 19.3
Late Draft 7.8
Phillies
Acquired Win Value
1st Round 17.2
2nd Round 5.1
F. Agent 8.9
Trade 4.8
Late Draft 4.4
Waivers 1
Rule 5 3.8
Even if you throw Matt Garza and Jason Bartlett into the Rays 1st round wins total, the totals still favor the Phillies.

I wish hockey had sabermetrics this advanced.

I’ve been meaning to check it out. It’d be great to have more numbers to prove why Nik Antropov is so amazing.

fair enough.
i’m still in shock at how this season has played out for you guys. i had much higher hopes.seriously – i’m not throwing salt in the wound. i even drafted Jovo and Bryzgalov in my fantasy keeper league.
You and me both.
Hopefully Wayne decides he should go back to running his restaurant / vineyard / intimate apperal company for next season…

The Lightning Bolt in the site’s logo should be flying into someone’s chest.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
YES!
Can someone get on that?
Maybe right into his mulleted head.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
No
He seems nice and he’s snubbed his nose at Montreal repeatedly which is a sure way to get in my good books.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
That’s why I like most people. Screw Montreal.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Malone
Thoughts on the deal? Best deal or bestest deal?
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
He currently has one of the highest shooting percentages in the league.

Makes you wonder how big Wellwood will be when his career is eventually over and he lets himself go.
I think he turns into one of these

Wellwood was just an excuse for some Muse. Love them.

Hey
40 points? much better than I thought. Too bad he isn’t taking more than just under 2 shots per game.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
He would have like 90+ goals if he shot as much as Ovie.
Supporter of the Sergei Berezin "Give and Go" - You give me puck, then you go to hell
hahaha
Hmmm that’s something to think about. Too bad he’s too slow to create his own shots in the same way Ovie does.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
All that money must be slowing him down.

Ok
Time to go. Welcome to SBN. Good (but not better than the Leafs) luck in the draft.

With all that chatter you’d think someone woudl talk about the GAME going on…

Speaking of Ramo
I’m actually glad they went with Ramo and McKenna after Smith went down… I was afraid they were going to make a quick-fix acquisition that was anything but (like the Rick Tabaricci deal from years ago)
Considering he's an AHL goalie
…and probably going to be a career backup, I thought he’s done well in his stints.
by John Fontana on Mar 17, 2009 9:38 PM EDT up reply actions
maybe I should be thanking my HDMI issue?
14-5 shot differential in the 3rd. 35-19 all game…
I hope they are planning to play in the last 5 minutes like they did in Miami the other night.

And Mitchell nets his second of the game during the SO
…man, though, Marty’s move was sweet on his shot.
