2009 NHL Draft Eve Open Thread

Less than 24 Hours until the 2009 NHL Entry Draft at the Bell Centre in Montreal.  When was the last time the #1 draft pick (and #2 and #3) was still in question in what is considered a strong draft year?

Who's going #1?  What are your thoughts on the OK Hockey strife?  This is an open comment thread for the NHL draft and Lightning talk.

How much of a cap hit would the Lightning take from that?

That might be perfect – a whole lot of nothing. Just what Koules wants in shedding.

has anything come up on the Isles plans for the #1 pick?

Anything solid? Anything definite?

This is the first time in recent memory that the top draft pick was still in question on draft eve…

The only other once I can remember is the Pens drafting Fleury instead of Staal, drafting for need.

Even weak drafts have a given #1 - even if that #1 is so-so...

It’s a welcome change, though, to have a draft that still has top-pick uncertainty this close to the selection.
