In the second arena operations FAIL in two days...
Flames/Vancouver from Vancouver: Some idiot was pointing a laser pointer at Kipper from the stands, trying to blind him. The arena staff tried only half heartedly to find the clown pulling this off an an “investigation” is ongoing.
Right, that is a dangerous incident and I would ahve pulled every single fan from the section in question. EVERY ONE.

Yes. He has an out clause in his contract that lets him go to Europe.
Paper said the Lightning have no plans to call him up to the big club, so I’m guessing they are clearing the way to let him go.

Yeah. I was moving my desk to a different location so I turned off my desktop, disconnected cords, etc. Then when I tried turning it on, it told me that it couldn’t find the OS. So, after a factory reset, it’s back. I’ve got most of the programs that I use added, but I’m still doing Microsoft updates and driver updates.

Okay. So, stats for this entire game – going back to Friday. Lightning are still pitching the shutout, which is a good thing.
Shots are now 25-9, in favor of the Devils; Stamkos has taken four of those shots. The Lightning have won only 44% of the total faceoffs; Stamkos is 1-5 (17%) while Konopka is 4-1 (80%). They are out-hitting the Devils 10-7, tho; three players have two hits each. Three players have a turnover each, four players have a steal each, and Lundin has three blocked shots.
The Lightning will start the third on the power play.

Toronto will never fold. Doubt Edmonton would either. For all their bad play, they both still regularly have sellouts. I could see Atlanta and Florida going bye-bye though. And if they don’t get that Lighthouse Project kinks worked out on the Island, the NYI could be moving somewhere too.

Here's my question for each of you
Lets say this is a 3-0 final after the full sixty minutes is complete. How useless has this resumption become? Should they hae resumed the game like this or called Friday’s game official because it was past the half-way point with a definate score (non tie)?

No, because the Lightning could always have another 3rd period meltdown and let the Devils back in the game. I’d never assume a win until that final buzzer.

I wouldn’t call it “useless”. I mean, a game’s a game. The problem isn’t the fact that this game was postponed, but the fact that there wasn’t anything in the rule book to cover it. There is no standard definition of what constitutes a full game – over 30 minutes or two periods.

The expectation is you play 60 minutes
So, I’d say this was necessary. Logistically a nightmare, and (hopefully) a waste of time, but is it fair on the Devils to be cut short?
If it’s in the rules that the game could be called “after the 5th” then yeah, it’d be a waste of time

It didn’t seem to me that either team really came out to play. They both sort of went thru the motions and hoped for the best. Until the end, anyways.

They should have been playign ball controlf rom the get go.
Play conservative, don’t do anything stupid. Own the first nine minutes and then play a conservative period. Easy Peasy. Why they went full on, I dunno…. That’s how it looked to me. Prevent defense, but full on …. And Id on’t mean playing full tilt.
