Ondrej Pavelec collapses during Atlanta Thrashers home opener vs. Washington

This is a bit off topic for Raw Charge, but on topic because these same Thrashers are due to be playing the Lightning tomorrow night at the St. Pete Times Forum.

Atlanta goaltender Ondrej Pavelec collapsed for no apparent reason during play of tonight's contest between the Thrashers and Washington Capitals at Phillips Arena.  Video replays posted on YouTube show Pavelec, far away from the play on ice, skating out slowly toward center ice before collapsing on his back.

Follow the story as it develops at SB Naiton's NHL page.  Kukla's Korner also has ongoing coverage with multiple videos.

Our thoughts are with Ondrej right now.  This is not the way we want to see the season to open for anyone.
