Given Tocchet's complete inability to coach a hockey team, yet hasn't been sacked, what incriminating photos do you think he has over Brian Lawton?
- Cleaning in stockings, a la Freddie Mercury
- Cooking in the nude, save for an apron
- End result of a bad night of Strip Poker
- Drunk and topless in the back of a limo with groupies
- Scouting Report detailing the suitability of Tocchet as a Head Coach

In case you haven't noticed.....
He’s Lawton’s boy. They will either both stay—NOT—or both go hopefully. I give Vinik enough brains for the change he’s going to make but not enough smarts to make the change during the Olympic break when it will do a world of good. Too bad as the players really dislike Tocchet whom they rightly perceive to be ill-equipped for the job. Actually, if he made the coaching change during the break, he might keep Lawton until the end of the season.
He can't make any kind of change right now.
He is not the “official” owner of the team. The final approval from the NHL Board of Governors has not given its rubber stamp of approval. Therefore, for the time being, any and all changes, trades and other business pertaining to the team has to be approved by ALL owners, both incoming and outgoing. Get over it, there will be no change this season. Vinik has already said not to expect any big changes suddenly. The man’s a millionaire several times over and he won’t do anything with this team without carefully assessing all possiblilties.
I have come to a conclusion... Martin St Louis = waterbug on meth...

Love the Lightning? Hate the Lightning at the same time? Me too! Don't Trade Vinny
Cute Fanshot, Taiter...
And unfortunately it provided me with a chance to visualize some of your options….. NOT what I needed! LOL…

You're naive.....
…if you believe Vinik doesn’t have a plan in place. He has been consulting with trusted hockey people. And for your education, a successful hedge fund manager did not get that way by being cautious. Hopefully, the “paperwork” you refer to will sail through quickly. Millions in playoff $$$$ at stake.
Naive? Hardly. I do know how things “work” but he cannot make any changes UNTIL the sale is final. End of story. And if you think Koules or Barrie will agree to any changes they you’re dreaming.
