I like a lot of the players on the team, but I could never be a Caps fan. I had Varlamov’s girlfriend try to convince me to change over to the Caps one night, but I told her I just couldn’t. She agreed with me in the end that I should change teams just because I moved. ;o)

Good evening everybody~
Got to find “alternative” means of watching the game. It’s not on gamecenter live because it’s apparently one of the VS games. But the VS game I got is NYR/Pit… which the Rags lead 1-0 early in the 1st.

Well, I hope the kid pans out. I saw where Purcell and Vinny went to the same High School (only about 8 yrs apart)…Notre Dame academy. Team mascot Hounds. So if Vinny and this kid click and play together we can always say “Unleash the hounds!”

I agree. I want Foster back next year.
Despite how he is currenlty playing, would like Nitty back but with up and coming talent and Smith wanting to be the top goalie don’t think thats very likely to happen.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they trade Smitty this summer...

I’m sure smitty was on the block yesterday and wouldn’t be surprised if he is moved (or released before the draft).. I agree with keeping Foster and honestly I wouldn’t mind them keeping Veilleux. I think he’s been misused a bit this year, when he’s been on the 3rd line and pk he’s been alright. Solid defensive forward.

They'd have to buy Smith out, not release him
His one year left on his contract would be spread out over a few years. I’d rather keep him then do that (hurt the cap over several years with his salary)

After one period, it’s all tied up 1-1.
Shots are 14-9 Caps; three players have two shots each. The Lightning have the edge on faceoffs, having won 57%; Stamkos & Lecavalier have identical stats – 4-2 (67%). at this point I don’t feel bad if they lose. Too many bandwagon fans, a la post 2004 Red Sox fans. I grew up in Baltimore and remember when they had 5,000 people going to their games. I bet if you ask 10 caps fans only one or two would know who Mike Liut or Sylvan Cote were….

I used to refer to MCI Center/ Verizon center as...
“Tomb of the Unknowns Arena”. It was historically dead in that building. Especially with how the team was playing before Ovie showed up.

I went to a practice the year after they went to the stanley cup (my parents lived in the neighborhood where their practice arena was, not only were there about 15 fans there, I couldn’t find any Caps merchandise to get signed. Not a cap, shirt, or calander to be found….

Walker has scored 40% of his goals on the season in the last 3 minutes. Not good.
