But they do have Zeke listed as a scratch… and 20 dressed skaters, so not sure it’s quite official yet.

This is one of the bigger games the Lightning have played this season
But in all honesty, the biggest games they played that set the pace for the current problems were those two losses to Florida. Must-win games that they let themselves lose

I have a bad feeling about this… sorry Nitty but the recent play has not been the best and the pressure to beat Atlanta will be huge, making the game even harder.

Saw the highlights. Like Jon Jordan says, he’s good for one of those about once every 73 games or so. It’s never been a question of his skating ability. He’s always been fast, just not hockey smart. He’s really kinda hockey stupid, come to think of it.

If it’s a confidence thing, then it’s the opposite of what you’re thinking. They’re stopping shots in front of Niitty because they’re not feeling all that confident about him. They’re thinking that they don’t want to let the shot thru because he might not stop it.
Or, it could be that they just like him better than Smitty. It’s hard to say, really. ;o)

After one, the Lightning are up 3-1 on goals by St. Louis, Stamkos, and Szczechura.
The Lightning are out-shooting the Thrashers 14-10; Purcell has four shots. They’ve won 57% of the faceoffs so far; Szczechura is 3-0 (100%). Tampa is being out-hit 6-5; five different players have a hit each. St. Louis has two turnovers – and the only steal – as well as two blocked shots.
Very strange period statistically, no?

No – they sort of pronounce the “R” at the end. Of course, the French swollow their r’s, so it’s not the true r that English speaking people think of. So it’s not “yay” at the end but “air”.

All right, folding up the tent here
Lightning win big — 6-2 over Florida. They improve to 27-26-11 on the season. But it’s goign to be a tough race if they want to make the playoffs.
Next game is Tuesday, in Montreal against Les Habitantes.
Marty, Stamkos (2), Vinny, Teddy and Paul Szczechura with the goals… Recap will be posted in the morning.
