The Sporting News far-fetched defense of Vinik could signal that Steve Yzerman has all but packed his bags and bought a one-way ticket to TIA. Article was written by Craig Custance, a former Red Wing beat writer who still has strong ties to the team. Looks like he is attempting to thwart the perception that his good buddy is leaving a storied franchise for a three-ring circus with a stingy owner.
