CBC reporting that Steve Yzerman is new GM of #TBLightning
The Tampa Bay Lightning announced that they would have a press conference at 3 pm Eastern to announce their new general manager. Various hockey media on Twitter have confirmed that Steve Yzerman will likely be named to that position with the team. More to come.

Unless I’ve missed something, so much for “we’ll get the CEO in, and the CEO will get the GM in”…
Me worried slightly if a certain person is just trying to say the right things…
Why isn't it October yet?
Vinik recanted on that last week due to the draft and free agency coming up. Decided that they needed a GM and was going to hire one before the CEO, since I guess the CEO search was going on for so long.
There's nothing quite like the sound of a frozen puck hitting the glass. It makes me happy.

CEO also oversees so much more than hockey ops that they need to make sure they get the right business guy in there. At this time of year, hockey ops needs to have things in place.
