The Detroit Free Press reported in an article about grander Detroit Red Wings organizational meetings, that:

With the Wings' salary cap specialist, Ryan Martin, interviewing -- and most likely soon-to-be-hired -- to assist general manager Steve Yzerman in Tampa Bay, Martin isn't taking part in Detroit's meetings any more.

This begs the question, just when will it be a done?

For those not following reports on this, Martin is a capologist -- someone who specializes in salary-cap management.  Yzerman requested permission to interview Martin earlier this week for a similar role with the Lightning.

There likely will be more moves in the coming days regarding front office personnel.  It may not be as sexy as roster moves or rumors, but it's a necessity in running the team.
