- Defenseman Andrej Meszaros was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers for a second round draft pick in 2012.
- Wing Alex Tanguay was signed by the Calgary Flames for one year at $1.7 million.
- Right wing Martin St. Louis signed a 4-year, $22.5 million extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
- Goaltender Antero Niittymaki signed a 2-year, $4 million deal with the San Jose Sharks.
- Goaltender Dan Ellis, formerly of the Nashville Predators, signed a 2-year, $3 milllion deal with the Lightning
