Cork Gaines over at Rays Index has a story up today about Tampa Bya. Literally and figuratively. It's inspired by the fact the Rays wore throwback "Tampa Tarpons" jersey's last week... It all has to do with the metro-area team name usage in pro sports. Just who first used "Tampa Bay" to describe a sports team's home town? Lots of history, and some examples of how certain cities have long been against the fact "Tampa" is highlighted in the regional name.
