of his video interview here in TB. Basically he said he is only here for one season. One season alone. A lot can change in a single season, but it looks like his intentions are just to boost his stock and then try the market.

The Lightning have a glut of players that are going to be vying for places on teh bottom two lines
Sean Bergenheim, Marc-Antoine Pouliot, Niklas Persson, Johan Harju, Chris Durno, Adam Hall, Blair Jones, Eric Perrin, Paul Szczechura, Teddy Purcell… These are just of f the top of my head… Factor in guys like James Wright and Carter Ashton who will make a case for the big club and it gets REAL interesting.

The Bolts have been really careless with depth since 2005-06… There were a few guys then and yet they allowed depth to keep getting depeted. The drafts were always weak under Jay Feaster too… So a doubled edged blade, cutting away at the Lightning’s depth…

Jeff Vinik shows hockey he means business
He cleans house of amateur hour in Tampa and goes on an elaborate hunt for a new GM. Elaborate and secretive. Once his sights get set on who he wants — he stays on the case until he closes the deal. He does the same thing with a CEO… Secretive and secure and savvvy in his dealings.
