Roster battle poll: Perrin or Tyrell?
On the heels of yesterday's waiver news (and we'll find out today if Marc-Antoine Pouliot cleared or not), we've got a poll up now asking a pretty generic question that we'd been discussing in the waiver news thread: If the final roster spot battle is between Eric Perrin and Dana Tyrell, which forward would you prefer the Lightning keep?
Make a case for Perrin or Tyrell in the comments. While the poll is a real straightforward question, the answer is probably not so straight.

Tyrell is NHL ready
but he can still get better. I’d rather he play more in Norfolk than he would on the 4th line. Also, Yzerman seems to be serious in taking the Detroit approach with prospects and I think in the end, unless Tyrell is 1000 times better than Perrin, the team will sign Perrin and give Tyrell more playing time in the A.

1000 times better than Perrin
Which he is.
Along with already having a contract.
experience counts
you should have vet guys on the bottom lines not young guys(unless they are an enforcer type). give tyrell top 2 line minutes in norfolk, and have him be the first guy called up if theres an injury. get perrin a 1 yr 600-800,000 range contract and get him back on the ice with the bolts.
I'm with John on Tyrell
I’m literally torn in two on this issue. I’d rather see Tyrell at Norfolk getting top 2 line minutes, PP and pk time then being a grinder on our 4th line. On the other hand having watched Dana and seen his talent, speed and attitude, he might be the guy to push those higher up the depth chart to be better. I will say I have little confidence in Teddy Purcell as a checking line winger so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tyrell steal his spot before the season even starts. Bergenheim-Moore-Tyrell could be a really difficult line to play against. I’m not sure Purcell doesn’t get traded or end up in the press box more often than not if Tyrell makes the team.
