- @tblightningfeed - THE best tool to use to discover Lightning links and news from around the web as they appear. We're not talking simply from the Tampa Tribune and St. Pee Times either. I've depended on this a few times while looking for links to promote for these threads.
- @vlf4 -- Newly launched, the official twitter account for the VIncent Lecavalier Foundation.
- @LightningShout -- Bill Philp, covering the Bolts with passion.
- @mcorcoran81 -- Mike Corcoran, beat writer for Creative Loafing's Tampa Bay Lightning coverage.

I find it funny
I put up a poll the other day abotu the Lightning holding preseason exhibition games in orlando and there are such a large number of NO votes…
These games are PRACTICE and the Bolts need to market themselves to a lwider audience in Florida. I s it THAT important that the Lightning play more home games in the pre-seaosn (with prices being standard ticket prices to games)?

Amway Center is ready to host hockey games
In a major market that the Lightning should be marketed in (much like Vancouver should market in Seattle).
Tally doesn’t have such an arena. I don’t know about Jacksonville. Estero’s arena is a good minor league arena — but the allegiances in Estero are between teh Bolts and and the Panthers

I'm not diminishing the Lightning there, I just wouldn't consider it a rivalry of any sort
There’s the expansion cousin angle, but that’s not enough to go on. It’s not like Anaheim and Florida have animosity.

The one that annoyed me – and spawned the meme – was when he said he stresses about money more now than when he was in college, yet just a couple weeks ago was showing off his brand new Jaguar. I think if he could go back today and experience the money stress of being in college, he’d change his mind.
I just found his lack of perspective there astounding.

Not just the Jag, but he was talking about his new pool, showing off his HUGE Yard, etc. Just repeating the extravagance and now he’s complaining aobut money.
It’s never enough, yeah, we get that — but that’s why you live within your means.

A lot of people are like that, tho. They buy more expensive stuff as their salary rises, but still have no extra cash to show for it because they’re buying more expensive stuff. So they feel like they’re not any better off than they were, when really they are.

I’ve had nothing but money problems in the last 2-3 months. I’d kill for that kind of income just so I could afford to move to a cheaper place.

Here's a serious question
Just for grins I matched our most likely potential lineup against the caps most likely lineup. giving a +1 or more to the player that clearly was superior at the position and only came up with the Caps being a +2

It doesn’t show up on paper but so true. Plus Boudreau has been there. Like it or not we have a whole batch of new players again and developing chemistry and learning the new coaches system will be an issue.

I think Smith has a higher upside
He was discouraged from handling the puck last year and rightly so, but when he was at his best the previous season, he was handling the puck aggressively and was our best penalty killer.

The biggest difference between the two seasons was post-concussion syndrome. I’d say that messed him up far more than anything else has. Hopefully, he’s recovered fully from that by now.

I’m just speculating on who shows the most at the tournament against the best from the other teams. My bet based upon watching the prospect camp scrimmage would be Dana Tyrell but Brandon Hynes was an eye opener as well. He reminds me of a right-handed MSL.

Red Wings Central put James Wright and Brett Connolly in their top 10 list of players to watch. Hutching sand Panik were honorable mentions.
We’re pullign for Wright, but Tyrell needs to step up in this Tournament and show that he does not just excel during Development camp.

Tyrell is a tough interview because he seems to get interviewed everywhere. Bolt Prospects had a lengthy one with him last season, he was interviewed by his hometown paper this summer.
Trying to find the right Q’s that aren’t run of the mill would be a lot of work. It’s a challenge to think about for sure.

I just think Tyrell has the most to prove
He was an animal at the prospects camp, remember the hit on Scott Jackson. I think his motivation level is high and he’ll want to show the bosses that he’s ready for the show. That being said another year at Norfolk getting top line, PP and PK minutes will only benefit him.

Goaltending Coach vs. Goaltending Consultant
On the Lightning Strikes blog they’re making a bid deal ouyt of the fact the Bolt have hire a Goaltending Consultant as versus a Goaltending Coach, From what I can recollect Cap Raeder worked with the goalies at Norfolk too, though in fact he was the “Goalie Coach”, Any thought on this?

A consultant usually doesn’t work exclusively for just one team, while a coach probably does. They might’ve really wanted this guy, but he wanted some autonomy. So they worked the deal where they’d each get what they wanted. I’m sure he’s there to coach, regardless of his title.
