Why Roli changed his number
We were wondering in the offseason why Roloson changed his number from 35 to 30. Well, here's why. I know from personal experience how great Roli is with kids, and already knew about the TDLO symbol on his backplate. But this is why Dwayne Roloson is a hero in my household.

Wow... that is truly awesome!
As if what he had done already, wasn’t enough. For a goalie that I didn’t know much about before he became a Bolt… he just continues to impress, on the ice and off. What a class act and true example of leadership on this young team.
Young players take note… this is how you conduct yourself as an athlete. Exactly what JM & Co. have in mind for players, as they continue to turn the Lightning into a world CLASS organization.
Truly awesome Roli… how much it must have took to change a number you’ve been using since Kelly Ryan’s age and did it without thinking twice. Bravo.
Thanks for the info CAustin!!!

He’s used the number 30 before, but this still shows a lot of character.
A few years ago, we had the chance to meet some players while in New York (long, complicated, and uninteresting story). There was a huge delay and my then-4 year old daughter and 20-month old son were extremely fussy and fractious by the time we got to the front of the line. Roli took one look at my daughter’s face, got down on her level, and spoke to her face to face and got her to smile. It was such a “dad” thing to do and it made an impression on me. He didn’t have to do it, but he did. Pure class. Then my son nearly smacked him in the face. :)

So your son is going to be a forward? :-)

My son
is going to be a troublemaker, like his mother. I will try to teach him not to decapitate any goalies, however.
