Dana Tyrell back with the Bolts
Dana Tyrell was the odd man out when final cut downs were made in Tampa after the 2011 preseason. The choice came down to Tyrell having options (being able to be promoted and demoted to the AHL without having to pass through waivers) whiel the likes of Blair Jones, Tom Pyatt, and former Bolt Mattias Ritola, did.
Wednesday night, the Lightning announced Tyrell -- who has 9 points in 18 games with the Norfolk Admirals this season -- was being recalled by the club. He'll join the team in time for the back-to-back, home-and-home series with teh first-place Florida Panthers this weekend. It's too early to say if he will play, or if the line-combo of Tyrell, Nate Thompson, and Adam Hall, would be resurrected.

I like the recall of Tyrell
He got a raw deal in the first place but his speed, quickness and tenacity along the boards will be a huge advantage. I adition he draws a lot of penalties with his speed.

Welcome back, Dana.

Okay, fine. I’m sure the coaches feel he can contribute. And I hope that he does. But like Erlendsson pointed out, this won’t do all that much for our defense or goaltending.
Every little bit can help, but there are still going to be big issues to work on over the next few games.

There is no panacea move that would cure the teams ills. Ohlund? No dice. Tyrell? Nope. Ashton? Uh-uh. Trading someone at the top to shake things up? Not doing.
But like Don said, Tyrell was handed a raw deal by gettign sent down to begin with. He got demoted because he had options. That’s it. He can play in the NHL, and he has clicked with his former linemates. That’s soemthing. I can’t say Jones has done that this season. Or Ritola. Pyatt is showing he has mettle but he hasn’t done anything.
Tyrell, of course, may not click iwth his linemates this time around. We’ll see.

And I sure hope it does work out.
But I also hope that Downie’s not hurt badly, that someone other than Vinny and Stamkos can get on the score sheet this game, that the rest of the forwards start to click, that the team starts to figure out how to cut down on shots on goal, that they get into Florida’s space and get their sticks in the lanes, that they stop taking bad penalties, and that Garon is up to the challenge tonight, Among other things.

Sounds as though the DNA line will be reunited tonight.
