Off Topic: Music and the Major League experience
I get numerous press releases on various things. Many I have no care for (usually NFL related things that aren't of interest to me, sometimes it's electronics and their deals with other sport leagues). Others pique my interest (Kayem is now the official hot dog at Times Palace!).
This time around, I found one that not only piques my interest, it may pique your own.
BMI -- "Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) is an American performing right organization that represents more than 475,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers in all genres of music" -- released a list of some of the most popular music titles played at arenas and stadiums for the 2009-10. Their charting covers the sport seasons continuously between July 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010.
Music is not only a great unifier at sporting events, but it also cements some tunes in our psyche. How many times have you heard "Na, Na, Na, Kiss Him Goodbye" sung during the waning moments of hotly contested games and playoff series? Or heard Queen rising everyone in unison to stomp their feet and clap to the tune of We Will Rock You before, during, and after a game?
Point is, movies have their soundtracks. So do sports. The official release is below the jump, identifying the most popular tunes at NFL, Major League baseball and NHL games.

I prefer the original "Car Wash" to the updated one...
But then again, I’m “old school”. And I still prefer some of the older rock to some of the new stuff that’s out. The Charlotte Checkers would come out to start the 3rd period of their games last year to “Hells Bells” (AC/DC) and I’d love to see them entering the arena to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” (my ultimate favorite entrance song..thanks Billy Wags!!)

I concur..The original is wayyy better and the movie is damn good also.
That has to be one of my favorite parts of a game is the teams entrance and The Bolts have come out to several songs/themes over the years. The all time best intro song for the Bolts and the one they use most often.. has to be “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC!!
Coulda been written specificaly for that purpose, haha. Works perfect!! Especially with the way they’ve been doing it lately.. with all the thunder and lil’ squirt hockey player leading the flag carriers for several laps before skating to center ice and slamming his stick on the face off dot, sounding a huge clap of thunder! Awesome!!

Confession
I have NEVER listened to “Twilight Zone” before. Thought they meant the Twilight Zone theme song when they mentioned it in the press release.
Typing is an adventure, and reading should be, too!
Raw Charge.
And the first song I thought about was the old Golden Earring song by the same name. I told ya I was “old school”.
