More black aces join the Lightning for second round of playoffs

The Tampa Bay Lightning added to their depth chart on Friday afternoon by recalling forwards Marc-Antoine Pouliot, Mike Angelidis and defenseman Mathieu Roy from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.

Earlier in the week, after the Admirals lost their first round playoff series to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins, the Bolts had recalled forwards Blair Jones, Mattias Ritola and goaltender Dustin Tokarski.

None of the recalled players are expected to play -- unless there are unforeseen circumstances such as injuries -- and are being carried for insurance reasons (in case those unforseen circumstances happen) as well as for the experience.

LIGHTNING RECALL THREE FROM NORFOLK

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forwards Marc-Antoine Pouliot and Mike Angelidis, as well as defenseman Mathieu Roy, from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced. The Admirals were eliminated from the Calder Cup Playoffs on April 23.

Pouliot, 6-foot-2, 193 pounds, played in three games with the Lightning during the regular season. He played in 69 games with Norfolk, leading the team with 25 goals and 72 points. Pouliot also led the Admirals with 12 power-play goals and was tied for sixth with a plus-13 rating. He played in all six Norfolk playoff games, recording four goals and seven points. Pouliot led all Admirals in goals and points in the postseason. Tampa Bay signed him as a free agent on July 23, 2010.

Angelidis, 6-1, 210 pounds, played in 80 regular season games with Norfolk, recording 20 goals and 38 points. He ranked fifth on the team in goals and led the Admirals in plus/minus with a plus-18 rating. Angelidis also scored two power-play goals and one shorthanded goal. He played in three Calder Cup Playoff games with Norfolk. The Lightning signed Angelidis as a free agent on August 3, 2010.

Roy, 6-2, 208 pounds, played in four games with the Lightning during the regular season. He appeared in 45 games with the Admirals, recording four goals and 22 points with a plus-9 rating. Roy ranked fourth among Norfolk defensemen in points. He skated in all six Admirals playoff games, recording four penalty minutes. Roy was signed by the Lightning as a free agent on July 28, 2010.
