Watching the AHL playoffs
That and I don’t have Vs. so I’d been watching more NBA than NHL playoffs.

I guess the text context is different than the audio
I kep reading Guy Boucher’s remark that his report on Pavel Kubina “Isn’t a very good one” and see it for what it is — he had no information because Kubina wasn’t with the team on the trip.
Everywhere else I see this remark, it’s framed as grave news.

Chia Beard

by Ryan Classic on May 17, 2011 8:03 PM EDT up reply actions
I've shaved 2-3 times a weeks since the playoffs began
But I still have a better beard than V4. Hey everyone. I’m going to predict Guy will make the guys sit back in the 1-3-1 until the last 4-5 minutes of the period. Try to make the Bruins turn the puck over, frustrate their offense and cause them to make mistakes. Then he’ll unleash the dogs. 4-2 Bolts with an empty netter and a late B’s goal, again.

not at all…. (and when i do drink, i rather just find drinks i like and not pay attention to details :) )
“high gravity”? how does that make sense?
high gravity means higher in alcohol content
I am a bit of a beer connoisseur—I like to remember the details so I can find things I like in the future. also, I’m detail oriented in general.
Regular beer is between 4 and 6% alcohol, I’ve had beers as high as 12%.

I figured I should add this as a little background:
About the whole bandwagon thing- I’ve been supporter of the Rays for a couple of years, and this year I decided it was ridiculous not to support the Lightning as well. So I’ve been on the ‘wagon for this whole year, not just since they hit the playoffs. I’m not trying to be rude, but I just wanted to clarify where I stand with the team. I don’t know every players name, but I’m working on it.
However, as my screenname suggest, my first love is the Tigers/Red Wings. So expect me to be a bit of a turn-coat when a Rays/Tigers or Bolts/Wings series rolls around. After that, I will be a strong supporter of the Detroit and Tampa teams in the MLB/NHL.
Thanks for the welcome everyone!

NHL matchups for those two are easier on me, since I only have to turn against Tampa for 1 (maybe 2) games since they’re in different conferences.
On the flip side, Tigers play the Rays 6 times, 3 in each city. But at least they’re not in the same division, or else that would be an 18 game matchup.

It’s actually very smart because Chara has a history of losing his focus when players go at him. We’ve seen it with Callahan, as well as the Paccioretty (sp?) incident.

Doesn’t even need to be a penalty either way. Keep in his face, consistently hit him (I know it won’t wear him down, but he does get frustrated) and you’ll see him lose his focus, take himself out of a play to land a hit on somebody, and yes, maybe even take a penalty.

Not only demoralizing, but more-so that Boston obviously came out with a huge push, which Tampa withstood with some good D and great goaltending. 2nd period I think we’ll see TB have their own push, and this game could easily get to 4-1 in short-order if Boston doesn’t hold.

grrrrrrrrr dammit
now the damn announcers will start praising Boston non-stop… oh wait they do that anyway
The 2010 Bucs: Considering their two-minute offense works wonders... Why can't EVERY offensive drive be run like that during the other 58 minutes of the damn game?!
Remember, the Lightning have used their time out. If it gets desperate, I wouldn’t be surprised if Smith sees some playing time, just as a way to get another time out.

Lack of physicality is a reaction to the refereeing. They are going to have to take their chances on it in the 3rd. If your going to get penalized for legal hits, make sure the B’s feel them.

Well, do you take that valient last stand as an indication hwo the team will play in Tampa? Or do you see it as the Bolts using everything they had just to win this one?

I think this team had soo much drive, so much faith in one another
and so much PRIDE…that was what the comeback was about…PRIDE> We saw no pride from Boston in the first game, they just rolled over. The Bolts could have rolled over this game and went home tied 1 -1…but they are a proud group and wanted this one for each other.
The Forum will be rockin Thursday, for SURE!!

Can't saw that wasn't exciting!
Man oh man that was a thriller!!!
What we have learned:
- we can come back from a 2 goal deficit
- Our PK isn’t perfect.
- To win, we need to play ALL 60 minutes.
- Thomas is a hell of a goalie
- The Lightning DON’T quit in the third.
"Hockey, Hockey, Hockey."
all of those things sound accurate
I don’t like not being ahead in the series though. I think we should try winning from here on out. the Caps series spoiled me

We are going to be robbed by the refs in every single game of this series.

We learned that in Pittsburgh.
"[The Lightning] are uncanny. When they want to get a goal, it's like they just snap their fingers or hit a button. They just dial it up. You can see it. It's like they flip a switch. When they are down, it's just like they think, 'we know we are going to score.' I don't know what it is, it leaves [the opposition] flabbergasted." - Mike Knuble, 3 May 2011
So
Guess you can’t win when you play um full period of ECHL hockey.
Great effort on the 1st and especially on the 3rd.

Are you going to shit on your team after that effort at the end? Or are you going to accentuate that the effort is needed more consistently over the entire game?

Sure they had great effort…but they should have been there the whole game. That’s what he’s been harping on for months now—and that’s what we did against our previous opponents in the post-season.
This loss is the best thing for the Bolts. No way they take the rest of the series off.

I disagree
the loss was not a good thing for the Bolts. I think we couldn’t handled a 2-0 lead just fine. we need to go win a couple in Tampa though.
