Watching the AHL playoffs

That and I don’t have Vs. so I’d been watching more NBA than NHL playoffs.

I guess the text context is different than the audio

I kep reading Guy Boucher’s remark that his report on Pavel Kubina “Isn’t a very good one” and see it for what it is — he had no information because Kubina wasn’t with the team on the trip.

Everywhere else I see this remark, it’s framed as grave news.

I've shaved 2-3 times a weeks since the playoffs began

But I still have a better beard than V4. Hey everyone. I’m going to predict Guy will make the guys sit back in the 1-3-1 until the last 4-5 minutes of the period. Try to make the Bruins turn the puck over, frustrate their offense and cause them to make mistakes. Then he’ll unleash the dogs. 4-2 Bolts with an empty netter and a late B’s goal, again.

“high gravity”? how does that make sense?

by KubKub on May 17, 2011 8:23 PM EDT up reply actions

high gravity means higher in alcohol content

I am a bit of a beer connoisseur—I like to remember the details so I can find things I like in the future. also, I’m detail oriented in general.

Regular beer is between 4 and 6% alcohol, I’ve had beers as high as 12%.

I figured I should add this as a little background:

About the whole bandwagon thing- I’ve been supporter of the Rays for a couple of years, and this year I decided it was ridiculous not to support the Lightning as well. So I’ve been on the ‘wagon for this whole year, not just since they hit the playoffs. I’m not trying to be rude, but I just wanted to clarify where I stand with the team. I don’t know every players name, but I’m working on it.
However, as my screenname suggest, my first love is the Tigers/Red Wings. So expect me to be a bit of a turn-coat when a Rays/Tigers or Bolts/Wings series rolls around. After that, I will be a strong supporter of the Detroit and Tampa teams in the MLB/NHL.
Thanks for the welcome everyone!

ha exactly

NHL matchups for those two are easier on me, since I only have to turn against Tampa for 1 (maybe 2) games since they’re in different conferences.

On the flip side, Tigers play the Rays 6 times, 3 in each city. But at least they’re not in the same division, or else that would be an 18 game matchup.

It’s actually very smart because Chara has a history of losing his focus when players go at him. We’ve seen it with Callahan, as well as the Paccioretty (sp?) incident.

It’s a smart move that may pay dividends later.

Doesn’t even need to be a penalty either way. Keep in his face, consistently hit him (I know it won’t wear him down, but he does get frustrated) and you’ll see him lose his focus, take himself out of a play to land a hit on somebody, and yes, maybe even take a penalty.

Not only demoralizing, but more-so that Boston obviously came out with a huge push, which Tampa withstood with some good D and great goaltending. 2nd period I think we’ll see TB have their own push, and this game could easily get to 4-1 in short-order if Boston doesn’t hold.

I think this team had soo much drive, so much faith in one another

and so much PRIDE…that was what the comeback was about…PRIDE> We saw no pride from Boston in the first game, they just rolled over. The Bolts could have rolled over this game and went home tied 1 -1…but they are a proud group and wanted this one for each other.

What we have learned:
- we can come back from a 2 goal deficit
- Our PK isn’t perfect.
- To win, we need to play ALL 60 minutes.
- Thomas is a hell of a goalie
- The Lightning DON’T quit in the third.
