Rays, Bosox and Bolts
Just a quick off-season happenings note for readers who are interested in the baseball thing: Tampa Bay Lightning stars Steven Stamkos, Nate Thompson, Teddy Purcell and Mike Smith will be participating in batting practice at Tropicana Field before Thursday, June 16th's game against the Boston Red Sox. Batting practice begins around 4:15 in the afternoon, well before the scheduled affair between the two AL East rivals.
The contest between the Rays and the Bosox will also have the quartet of Bolts players throwing out the ceremonial first pitch of the game. That should be around 7 PM.
Last summer had former Lightning center Zenon Konopka participating in pre-game festivities at Tropicana Field. Zeke's mad day out was chronicled in a team video (see above link). I have no doubt that fans will be seeing video highlights of Stamkos, Thompson, Purcell and Smith's experience with the Rays sometime in the very near future.

Most baseball fields in the MLB open two hours before game time. Often, tho, the home team has finished with batting practice before then, but not always. Your best bet to see that would be to show up right when the gates open, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll even see the Rays batting at that point – let alone Lightning players doing that. But, hey, can’t hurt to try, right?
Win or lose, I'm proud of these guys.
