Somewhere there is video of Huberdeau’s goal. @Rinkside tweeted it last night, apparently, but I haven’t seen it, just one of the warmups. It’s all of this lovely quality. As I said in a FanShot I just posted, Janus faced 39 shots and Markstrom faced 19. I have no idea what sort of info will be available on tonight’s game. If anyone hears or sees anything. please let us all know. Thanks!

Oh, and, IT’S ALMOST HOCKEY SEASON!!!!

Just up on the Lightning website

video highlights from last night.

And the Panthers fans booing during the shootout was starting to annoy me. Just sayin’. They’re kids and it’s an exhibition game. Settle down, people.

It’s been months since hockey season. We’re just excited to see some live hockey again. All in good fun.

Remember this is a rivalry we’re trying to build. :)

I guess so. I just don’t hate you guys. Sorry. I can try to if you really want me to, I suppose. ;-) I did have “rivalrous” feelings during the booing.

I don’t know about the other guys, but for me personally it’s not hatred as much as envy.

I’m pretty sure a good amount of NHL Fans/Trolls don’t even know Tampa Bay is in Florida. I’m sure they picture it being somewhere between Washington and Carolina, where hockey is more acceptable than it is in our state. You guys also have a superstar who is featured just about everywhere the NHL is, including NHL 12. Don’t need to state the obvious, but Lecavalier and St. Louis. You have a coach in Guy Boucher who has a mysterious, badass secret agent scar….and yeah sure, he’s a great coach. :)

So yeah, I think as a team we have a chip on our shoulder and something to prove. The fans know it as well. We had the best offseason we’ve had in a decade and we still get unfounded hate and “Lottery Team” comments.

Again, all in good fun. It’s a game in the end.

P.S. I was rooting for you guys against the Broons. Almost had them too. Maybe this year. ;)

I don't wish to be reminded of the Bumblebees, thank you very much.

That still stings. (Ha! I made a funny. Okay, not really.)

There’s been a lot of talk about trying to develop a rivalry between the Bolts and the Panthers. I’m in favor of it, in theory, but it would be a weird thing, because there’re reasons for fans of both teams to come together against those who wold deny us hockey just because Florida gets more sunshine than Canada.

I seriously don’t want to feel about the Panthers the way I feel about the Ducks. Whom I despise. Truly, truly despise. And not just in a joking sort of way, either, though I joke about it a lot. [deep breaths—okay, I’m calm now.] I want a good sense of competition that doesn’t cross from “sports hate” to actual hate.

And Guy Boucher actually was a secret agent. I’m surprised you didn’t know that already.

Was his alias Agent 131? (I hope someone gets that, lol)

I agree that we need to come together against the “True North”. And our rivalry shouldn’t be hateful, although I know a few share of Bolts fans who just outright hate the Panthers and think they’re better humans than us. They’re almost as bad as Canadiens.

Anyways, looking forward to another great match tomorrow. :)

I prefer a friendly rivalry. One where we root against each other for 60 minutes and then go out and get a beer together.

Looking forward to tonight's tilt

I’m surprised the teams don’t set up a couple webcams and offer a live stream, it’s really not that hard.

Maybe they didn’t think there’d be an audience? I sure would enjoy a feed.

One thing I know for absolute certain is that my team will win. :D

There was someone streaming yesterday, unofficially. I don’t know if that person will be back tonight, but it’s worth keeping an eye open.

Yeah where is everyone? And what’s up with the Lightning defense? I’m about to get anxious here. But Preds fans are big mouths anyway. :)

Anyone have any thoughts about the Bolts-Preds last night?

Or am I the only one nerdy enough to have kept up with it? :)

Smith (Preds) was beastly. Wasn’t there to watch live so I don’t know if it was luck or if he actually has the skill.

Where is your goalie Nagle on the depth chart? Just curious.

Forgive my split personality, here. I'm and Preds fan AND a Lightning fan

Nagle is generally considered #5, behind Janus. He’s pretty new to us, just out of Ferris State. Never played any games in AHL (CCHA is all I know about off the top of my head.) Not sure what the deal was last night, as I’ve only seen the video on the Preds website, but at least the shot count was more reasonable this game. The Baby Bolts have got to get the play out of the defensive zone, though.

Smith is good enough to make Preds fans very nervous. Lit up UWisconsin, did very well at World Juniors. We’ve been burned with this sort of thing before. The Preds corner of the twitterverse was fairly vibrating with excitement about the kid last night. Cold reality has set in this morning, and people are being much more cautious. I have to give a lot of credit to Borque and Beck, who’ve played together in Milwaukee for at least a season. Borque did very well in the playoffs for MIL last May. If nothing else, Craig Smith gives great media.
