Tuesdays with Dani: Injuries keep piling up
There are currently nine players out currently with injury for the Lightning, with Dana Tyrell being the latest addition to the injury team. But sometimes with hardship comes great quotes from coaches, like this gem from Boucher:
"The hockey gods," Boucher said, "are whipping us left and right."

I’ll make sure to get photographic evidence of said play. Assuming it happens.

I don’t see why everyone is making a huge deal about Thomas not going to the White House. James Harrison skipped out on 2 White House travels, one with Bush and one with Obama, and there wasn’t that much backlash. I remember people even saying he was doing the right thing (if my memory serves me correctly). Why is Thomas under the microscope here?

Also because the hockey world is much smaller than the baseball world. It’s a lot more like a small town than a big city sometimes.
I do agree that it was handled poorly. It could have been defused, but it wasn’t. But it’s not nearly as big a deal as it’s being made out to be. If it weren’t Thomas, I doubt that (a) the player would have been allowed to beg off of a team event because of political beliefs and (b) that it would have made much news if they had tried.

Because Politics, religion and money are not topics to be discussed among mixed company….
…and when sports cross that threshold, anarchy ensues.
