Chris Trotman

The two AHL teams that flipped NHL affilations face each other in Syracuse for the first time this season.

Team: Syracuse Crunch (18-7-1-3), AHL affiliate for the Tampa Bay Lightning
Opponent: Norfolk Admirals (13-13-1-0), AHL affiliate for the Anaheim Ducks
Where: Oncenter War Memorial Arena, Syracuse, New York
When: 7:30 pm ET
Media: Live stream via AHL Live; Radio: The Score 1260 AM

Well, here we are. The Norfolk Admirals are visiting the Syracuse Crunch for the first time this season. Only, we're not rooting for Norfolk, anymore, are we?

This is the first of eight meetings between these two clubs - and the first of three within 8 days. While it may seem awkward to see that Norfolk jersey with the wrong names on the back, the really awkward moment in this series between these two teams will come next week. They'll be playing back-to-back games at Norfolk Scope next Friday and Saturday.

Welcome to the AHL, where entire teams are traded when NHL teams switch affiliations.

Dustin Tokarski is expected to get the start tonight. Vladislav Namestnikov is reportedly back in the lineup as well. Philip-Michael Devos, Danick Gauthier, Eric Neilson, Jared Nightingale have been speculated as being the scratches.
