Hey all, so is it official that Roloson is starting. I have a feeling it could get ugly fast, although it may not be better for the team we need to at least look at Tokarski this season to see where were sitting with his conditioning and development,

Actually, I don’t think that most Lightning fans realize that bringing players up could screw with their affiliate’s conference standings.

Hows the Janus doing? Maybe give Tokarski a two game stint. One behind the bench and one to start, that way he gets evaluation and a rest. I know we need to re-tool the back end but how do we know if he is NHL ready if he doesn’t get a chance.

Janus had a pretty hot start to the season but hasn’t done nearly as well since late October. Both of them are struggling to find some consistency. This could have been Janus’s break, but he hasn’t been able to gain any ground on Tik.

One of the issues with this is how AHL games are so often scheduled in clumps. They’ll have lots of three-in-threes all year. You really want to manage your goalies’ starts in those situations.
And since the big club has the luxury of time and the Ads don’t, they probably should get dibs on him right now.

When the Avs traded my then favorite player Wojtek Wolskito PHX a few years back, two days later the teams met. Wolski scored the winner with ~30 seconds left, I wasnt even mad. Thats probably as close a scenario as it would get

Moore is a tenascious forechecker
He’s also good at faceoffs, a valuable penalty killer and one of those irratating guys that gets under the other teams skin. He’s a better scorer than he’s shown this season and can step into a 2nd line role if needed. He’s a good playmaker and solid defensively.

Well, tis’ the season for the shake-ups to begin. Agree with the Kubina stuff. But sad to see no more Moore. Always thought that if were going to get a Cup anytime in the near-ish future, that Dom would be a part of it. Especially with his great stuff last year in the playoffs. Most likely just the start of more things to come. At least I have this to comfort me… In Yzerman We Trust!!!

But he seems to have lost a step this year. Although I think he’s still valuable to the team, his salary has to be commensurate with his contribution and I believe next year he’ll be a thrid line winger. Lot’s of guys playing hard tonight. Many don’t want to be the next one packing their suitcase.

I think it’s the idea that he would have been taken by surprise. I tend to think, though, that there had to have been discussions before this, and it wouldn’t be unlike Yzerman to talk to Moore over the past day or so to let him know something was possible.

Kubina has a no-trade clause. They had to talk to him beforehand. Apparently, Moore didn’t, so they didn’t have to consult him about it.

No, they had to talk to him beforehand. That’s part of the deal with a no-trade clause. They could’ve asked him if he’d waive his no-trade clause for a specific team instead of asking him for a list, tho.

But we know it’s coming, regardless. makes it all the “Moore” difficult after a deep playoff run, like last year. Lots of bonding through stuff like that. Just as long as my main few stay, I’ll be ok. Not sayin Dom wasn’t one of ’em.

The Short Awards stop taking nominations tomorrow at midnight. I’d like to bolster Raw Charge’s standings before then. We (were) 15th before earlier tonight when we got 3 more nominations (thanks, Chris).
Is it possible for you guys to tweet a nomination for @RawCharge? Currently the account is 15th on the Short Awards list and that’s already better than most of the big boys. While I’d like to get the account into the top six – I figure that’s impossible. So even a minor good showing would work.

Not much of a surprise when you're lacking a top 4 d and your checking line center
Bolt fans had best get used to being out talented on a regular basis until the end of the season. Consider it as fans like taking one for the team. Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the sell off go deeper than anyone expects as there are so many underachieving players on this years team, two of whom have scored tonight.

I couldn’t tell if you were saying you’re not suprised since Kubina’s and Moore aren’t playing or if you’re saying the team’s d in general is weak, but this game doesn’t seem any worse than any of the other crap games they’ve played this season with both of those guys. And there’s also 20 minutes left and they’re only down by one. anything’s possible.
This kind of frustration, though, is likely to last for much of the rest of the season.
I don’t think that underachievers get much return in trades, though. It’s more likely to see the guys doing well being sent out.

walking to the other end to shoot free throws after a foul on a rebound is another one. Loose ball fouls should be treated like offensive fouls.

Well..
That was a “character win” …if I’ve ever seen one. Way to go boys!! Long overdue but well deserved none the less. Shows what can be done when you just go out there and play the damn game for 60(+) minutes. Lot easier not to be “afraid to lose” if there isn’t much left, to lose. Maybe Boucher can apply that in the future with some reverse psychology? Instead of always getting ready for the playoffs, just play like were already out.
