Over the next several weeks, I'm going to be setting up databases and spreadsheets for next season. I would like to get the input of readers here concerning what kind of information you most would like to hear about. What statistics would you guys like for me to track next season? These can be game-by-game statistics, player breakdowns, or other stats that are not easily obtained at places like Behind the Net or Time on Ice.

I have plans to track quality starts for the goaltenders, as well as home vs road shot data for each skater and for the team as a whole. In addition, I want to get more detailed information on shot blocking and on hits, giveaways, and takeaways. As always, I'll be concerned with things like shot ratios (shots for as a total of all shots) and player and team shot metrics (like Corsi, Fenwick, etc.). And there is some work being done to use make hits more reliable as a source of data so that we can see how hits might help make our models more predictive.

If there's anything that you would like for me to cover next year, or something that you've wanted to know about but haven't seen the data for, please let me know and I'll look into including it as I cover the Lightning's statistics.
