Lightning recall Nikita Kucherov, Dmitry Korobov

Injuries and a recent lack of scoring lead the Lightning to break with their normal player-development mantra in recalling the AHL rookie.

Korobov headed back to Syracuse

The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-assigned defenseman Dmitry Korobov to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.

Jon Cooper's bold, gut prediction on Stamkos' return from his broken leg

"I don't think the question is going to be, 'Is he coming back to play this year for the Tampa Bay Lightning?' The question is, 'Is he going to be back (in February) to play for the Canadian Olympic team?' I'm the optimistic coach, but that's how it might turn out."

Originally published in the Tampa Bay Times, the bold predication on Stamkos is exceedingly optimistic. But is it realistic? Recovery time for broken tibia's can rage from 3 - 6 months... If Stamkos, who will not have played in 3 months, makes a return for the Olympics, odds are he'd be a reservist. The worst case scenario is Stamkos returning in May - which could provide a spark if the Bolts are in the playoffs at that time.

Tonight's a Syracuse Crunch alumni game in Tampa

This game is one that may be worth watching for Norfolk Admirals and Syracuse Crunch fans, as alumni dominate both teams rosters.

"Lightning look for path forward on blueline"

The Tampa Bay Lightning not only lost a key piece to its's offense with the injury to forward Steven Stamkos on Monday, but they also lost two important players on the blueline in Sami Salo and Keith Aulie in the 3-0 loss to the Bruins.

Lightning recall Brown, Korobov

The move is made in the wake of injuries suffered yesterday in Boston.
