On Syracuse.com, Assistant General Manager Julien BriseBois answered questions submitted pertaining to several issues regarding the Syracuse Crunch as well as the Tampa Bay lightning...
I popped in under my pseudonym, Johnny Fonts, and asked a pair of questions. The first has been discussed quite a bit on Raw Charge in comments recently: that of keeping rookie defenseman Andrej Sustr.
Andrej Sustr is playing with the Lightning, which sort of goes against the development plan the Bolts have used in the recent past. How ready has he proved to be, and is there a chance he'll be sent back to Syracuse?
[...] Andrej is starting the season in Tampa because he earned a roster spot with his play. He has improved a lot in his short period of time with us and his development curve reminds me of Alex Killorn's last season. Some players need less time adjusting to the pro game and the NHL pace [than] others.
The fact that Sustr was skating in the top-six this morning during practice also plays up how fondly the club feels about Sustr's game.
I also asked if the Lightning organization would be supplying players to its CHL affiliate, the Brampton Beast, which earned this reply:
At this juncture, we do not have any players scheduled to be assigned to the Beast but that is subject to change.
In other words, stay tuned on that one.
