Tampa Bay Lightning forward Marty St. Louis' goal and assist in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Panthers put him ahead of the great Bobby Orr on the National Hockey League's all time points leaders list.

Tampa Bay Lightning captain Marty St. Louis accomplished yet another feat and added something else to his already long list of impressive achievements. His goal and assist in the first period on Thursday night against the Panthers gave him 917 career points (342 goals, 575 assists) surpassing the great Bobby Orr who scored 270 goals and had 645 assists (915 points) on the National Hockey League's all-time points leaders list.

After the Lightning's 7-2 victory, St. Louis said the milestone is one he will always remember.

"I don't think it is something you think about when you start your career," St. Louis said. "But obviously it's a pretty special player I get to pass it is a huge honor."

St. Louis is now at 94th on the list. He is six points away from the 93rd spot, held by Neal Braton.

"It is an honor to even be on the list," St. Louis added.

Where does an achievement like this rank for a player who has a Stanley Cup, two Art Ross Trophy's, three Lady Byng Trophy's, and a Hart (most valuable player) Trophy?

"I'm honored (to pass Orr) but I can't say I ranking it anywhere," said St. Louis

However, it is extra special to achieve such a feat in the first home game as a team's captain. Especially in front of 19,205 screaming fans.

"It was pretty cool, he said. "Obviously we have great fans and to be a captain of this team is an honor for me."

St. Louis is one nine active players on the top 100 points list. Other active players include Jaromir Jagr, Teemu Selanne, Joe Thornton, Daniel Alfredsson,  Jarome Iginila, Ray Whitney, Marian Hossa, and Patrik Elias.
