With injuries on the blueline, Lightning recall Dmitry Korobov from Syracuse

With Eric Brewer and Sami Salo expected to miss Saturday's game against Montreal, the Bolts recall another big part of the Syracuse defense.

With thanks to injuries to Eric Brewer and Sami Salo (both listed as upper body afflictions) that should keep them out of action for Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens, Dmitry Korobov was recalled from the Syracuse Crunch.  That dealt the Crunch a blow, as the recall took place shortly before their game on Friday night in Hershey, Pennsylvania against the Hershey Bears.

Prior to his recall, Korobov was leading Syracuse in the plus/minus category (plus-2) and was Syracuse's top scoring defenseman. Korobov has played in 26 games with the Crunch this year, netting 12 assists. He has also played one game with the Lightning, which was also his NHL debut.

Syracuse is already missing the services of defenseman J.P. Cote, who was signed to an NHL contract and recalled last week by Tampa Bay.

The full press release on the recall is below:

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled defenseman Dmitry Korobov from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.
Korobov, 24, made his NHL debut with the Lightning against the Los Angeles Kings on November 19, recording one hit and 13:21 minutes of ice time. It is his only game played for Tampa Bay this season. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defenseman has skated in 26 games with Syracuse this season, posting 12 assists and 30 penalty minutes. He ranks second among Crunch defensemen with a plus-2 rating.
The Novopolotsk, Belarus native has appeared in 91 career AHL games, all with the Crunch, recording three goals and 34 points. Last season he ranked second in the AHL among rookies with a plus-20 rating. Korobov helped lead Syracuse to the 2013 Calder Cup Final, recording a goal and two points in 17 games.
