Tampa Bay Times Forum ice surface removed; another long summer without hockey draws closer...

January 19th, 2013 feels like so long ago -- a fresh sheet of ice for opening night. The ice surface was removed at the Tampa Bay Times forum today, May 20 2013. - USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Times Forum removed its ice Monday and the ice wont return until September when NHL training camps begin.

The Tampa Bay Times Forum removed its ice today, which is always a disappointing sight to see, especially at this time of the year. It means that the Lightning didn't make the playoffs and there won't be hockey back in Tampa Bay until September when NHL training camps begin.
