Off Topic: MLB Trade Deadline at Daily Dish

Friday is a massive day in Major League Baseball, the Trade Deadline. Much like in the NHL, there is expected to be a flurry of activity by teams who look to strengthen themselves for the final stretch of the season (or who give up for this season and re-shuffle the deck for next). MLB Daily Dish here on SB Nation is the top spot to go to for general rumors, speculation and news about transactions in MLB. Of course, our friends at DRays Bay will keep you abreast with goings on for the Tampa Bay Rays specifically at the deadline, but for a broader perspective about what's happening and what's rumored in baseball, check out Daily Dish.

CLS Re-Draft - First Round Update, Part II [Updated]

The first round of the Cycle like the Sedins Re-Draft if half over. Did any more Tampa Bay Lightning players get picked up?

Lightning, defenseman Matt Smaby avoid arbitration with two-year deal

I don't know about you, but I'm rather happy that they kept Smaby. He had a pretty good season last year, considering. However, I'm not sure how much time he'll end up spending in Tampa with all of the new defensemen the Lightning suddenly has.

The CLS Re-Draft - So Far....

The first ten picks have been made in the Cycle like the Sedins Re-Draft. The Tampa Bay Lightning made a controversial choice at number three, and Vincent Lecavalier sneaks into the top ten. But...

And the third pick in the CLS Re-Draft is....

The third pick in the CLS Re-Draft goes to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and it is....

Mike Smith is on the Hot Seat

The pressure to perform is on. Will goaltender Mike Smith prove he has recovered from PCS? And who else is on the hot seat in TB?

Phoenix seeking Southeast Division rival

SB Nation's Phoenix Coyotes blog, Five for Howling, is having a little off-season fun with readership and trying to make a case for a rivalry with a Southeast Division opponent. While yesterday's Radim Vrbata trade was cited as something the Bolts will come to regret in the future... some longer term eccentricities between the Bolts and the Coyotes were neglected... Like Petr Svoboda's career ending injury at the hands of Shane Doan in 2000, or the Nikolai Khabibulin trade in 2001.

Summer Fun: CLS Re-Drafting the NHL

For a little summer fun, the Cycle like the Sedins blog is throwing a Re-Draft, and Raw Charge is the Tampa Bay Lightning GM. Who in the NHL would you like to see "drafted" to the Lightning?
