The Tale of Two Attitudes

6

Two quotes and two perspectives from the top two players in the 2009 Draft. What they say is quite telling of each players character and which is ready to face challenges ahead.

Torrie Jung (G) and Michael Ward (D) to re-enter draft

Two CHL prospects re-enter the draft... Will either be re-selected or are they free-agents to be?

"It would be nice to be able to just worry about playing the games and not dealing with this, but I have an attachment to Tampa Bay and I love playing for the Lightning. My history is with this team."

Vincent Lecavalier -

Lightning's 1st-round selection history for D-men a shaky one

The Tampa Bay Lightning's 1st round selection history when it comes to D-men has been shaky at best. Would Victor Hedman be able to break the tradition of mediocrity?

The Draft Board: Victor Hedman - Pension Plan Puppets

Hedman told Point Blank that he has a flight to New York on Sunday afternoon and the Islanders are picking him up at the airport. He has all day Monday open on his schedule to meet with the team. On Tuesday, he travels to Tampa Bay.

Point Blank reporting from the NHL draft combine last week.

Tampa Bay NBC affiliate to pre-empt Game 1 of Stanley Cup Finals (UPDATED)

2

WFLA-TV here in Tampa has an annual broadcast telethon to raise money for All Children's Hospital. And their annual broadcast has trumped Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Detroit Red Wings (as well as taped coverage of the French Open). WFLA has also denied putting the game on their spare digital channel as well, in favor of syndicated TV shows/re-runs. The NHL is currently trying to remedy the situation. UPDATE (2:51 PM EDT): Sun Sports TV (regional cable sports broadcast network) will air the game at it's scheduled time on Saturday night. Hat tip to WBPhilip in comments.

The Ballad of Vincent Lecavalier
