My apologies to whoever coined that word on Twitter or where ever it was. If I knew who it was, I'd be happy to give credit. I only borrow it to make a point.... thanks.

Yes, I believe in "Millercles",or Miracles, or Karma, or whatever you want to call it. Blow it off if you want to, blame Brodeur if you want to (a lot of Canadian fans are doing just that) or just admit that the Canadian team lost.

On this particular night in Vancouver, WE were the best team, no matter what the reason. I am an American hockey fan. Yes, I am patriotic. And NO, I am not going to apologize for it.

As I said on the game thread chat last night, "He may not physically resemble him, but I believe that Ryan Miller just channeled a bit of Jim Craig out there tonight."

And on a night where the best player was the besieged goalie on an underdog team, one that had a shamrock on his goalie mask (and Ryan Miller did, in tribute to Jimmy Craig), and just hours shy of the anniversary of the first "Miracle on Ice"...Yes I do believe in "Millercles".

Do you?

Given Tocchet's complete inability to coach a hockey team, yet hasn't been sacked, what incriminating photos do you think he has over Brian Lawton?

  1. Cleaning in stockings, a la Freddie Mercury
  2. Cooking in the nude, save for an apron
  3. End result of a bad night of Strip Poker
  4. Drunk and topless in the back of a limo with groupies
  5. Scouting Report detailing the suitability of Tocchet as a Head Coach

Raises a good point in the main "article" - Downie's certainly improved since coming over from Philly, and whilst he does appear to have been regressing a bit recently, he's definitely been the kind of player you'd rather have playing FOR you than against. How much is him growing up and how much is down to the coaches is obviously up for debate, but I can believe Tocchet actually helping Downs out

Though there season is coming to a close, and no more home dates are to be played, I thought it was noteworthy enough to make mention of the Tampa Bay Bolts Junior hockey team. It ain't the CHL, but Florida IS producing hockey players...

Now the twist in the story is a power surge caused the circuit breaker to go belly up and keep doing so. By the time they reset everything...it was going to take way longer than 10 minutes to get the arena lit to 100% or something close to playable. I can hear it now...how fans of other teams could say this could only happen in New Jersey. I still remember to this day when this happened at MSG in 1994 during an Aerosmith concert. They were able to play on but their set was cut short a bit. Fans were compensated.

Now about 10pm was when my brother got a call from PSE&G. See my brother is a journeyman electrician in the state and well I really would not trust any electrical work without him looking at it first. The brother and several others got calls because they worked on the circuit breaker in question. By then, the game was pretty much going to be called anyway. It was more a question of when the lights would come back on. Basically as said brother quoted "10 minutes to reset that?....try at least a couple hours!"

Well sure enough about 11:30, the power came back at 100% of its original glory. As everyone knows now, the game will be resumed 6pm tomorrow evening at The Rock. It was good to see Tampa, New Jersey, and the NHL come up with an easy solution that made everyone happy.

The lesson to be learned here is really there is no embarrassment. Power spikes happen all the time. Remember that huge blackout a few years back? Just be thankful that the lights only dimmed. Imagine if the entire arena blacked out completely. I am just saying.

ESPN and AOL Fanhouse are reporting USF Football coach Jim Leavitt has been fired by the school. The University of South Florida has been investigating a November 21st locker-room incident between Leavitt and a player.

The only coach USF has known is no more.

I know everyone loves free things.Throw in the WJC and regular Lightning games and that's a lot of hockey during Christmas =)
