Syracuse Crunch at Bridgeport Sound Tigers AHL game thread

Syracuse Crunch

Syracuse plays a team this afternoon that's gone 0-7-0-1 in their last eight games.

Team: Syracuse Crunch (14-5-1-2), AHL affiliate for the Tampa Bay Lightning
Opponent: Bridgeport Sound Tigers (10-11-0-1), AHL affiliate for the New York Islanders
Where: Webster Bank Arena, Bridgeport, Connecticut
When: 3 pm ET
Media: Live stream via AHL Live; Radio: The Score 1260 AM

The Syracuse Crunch, after dropping a close but penalty-filled game against Adirondack last night in a shootout, will be making their first visit of the season to Bridgeport.

The match with the Sound Tigers could be considered a trap game of sorts. Bridgeport has lost their last eight games in a row, which could lull the Crunch into thinking that this will be an easy game. However, all streaks break, so they'd better be on their toes going into this one.

If head coach Jon Cooper keeps up the pattern that he's had so far, expect Riku Helenius to get the start in this one. Not that Dustin Tokarski was at fault in the shootout loss - being down 5-on-3 for two goals definitely contributed. It's just that in these three games in three days typically the goalie that starts the first game also starts the third game.
