Mike Lundin has agreed to a one year deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
RW Martins Karsums, who along with D Matt Lashoff were acquired from the Boston Bruins in the Mark Recchi trade at the trade deadline this past season, was re-signed to a one year deal. Lashoff and fellow defensemen Mike Lundin are the remaining unsigned RFA's for the Lightning.
I'd love to see Alex Tanguay on Vincent Lecavalier's wing. That being said, if what Damian's reporting is true -- it ain't going to be happening in Tampa.
It was just a couple of days ago where I was stating that the lack of movement by Lightning free agents was a sign at a quality issue with the club's UFA's. That logjam has since broken up. Welch, Brandon Segal and Josef Melichar have all found homes since that post (in Atlanta, LA and the Czech Republic). Welch stays in the Southeast division, being part of his third SE club (Florida and the Bolts are his previous two).
Though we knew they were close on Draft Night, we now find out for sure that Lukas Krajicek has been re-signed to a one year deal. The Lined Up Update here at Raw Charge has been appended to reflect today's signings.
With Free Agency starting in mere moments, here are a couple of thoughts that me and Cassie shared with Cycle Like the Sedins regarding free agency and what we'd not like to see with the Lightning.
Just got off the phone with Assistant GM Claude Loiselle & the club is very close on a 1 year deal with Lukas Krajicek- Brian Lawton

"Brian Lawton" reports that the Bolts are on the verge of re-signing RFA Lukas Krajicek to a 1 year deal
Breaking from Erik at the Trib: Koules to remain in control of the Lightning, and Lawton in control as GM. More to come I would assume, and from other sources, regarding Len Barrie and the fate of team captain Vincent Lecavalier
As if the Lightning don't have enough problems today... There are reports that goalie Karri Ramo has jumped to the KHL. This creates a huge mess in Net if Mike Smith is not fully recovered from his Post Concussion Syndrome come next season (and no one ever fully recovers from PCS).
