It isn't official, but here are some of the player moves tied to the Bolts roster cutdown today.

Vladdy Namestnikov showed flashes of why he was drafted by Steve Yzerman this summer, but he will be returned to his junior club this afternoon, and be given another year to mature.

You may not have to wear a hardhat to Friday's preseason game at the St. Pete Times Forum, but be prepared for a still-under-construction venue.

The flip side of a home-and-home (sort of) series, the Lightning make their first trip to Orlando in 16 years tonight as they face the Blues.

The Bolts preseason gets underway with four games this week. The first being in St. Louis in the first of a back-to-back affair against the Blues.

And so it begins -- the schedule for this weekend's Tampa Bay Lightning training camp sessions have been announced. Get them here and a pointer or two about attending camp at the Brandon Ice Sports Forum.

It's two more weeks until NHL teams open their training camps. It's not October yet, but September has finally arrived.
