Hey SSE: how about $1 beer Wednesdays? Only two of those on the current schedule. And when has a Rangers fan ever abused such an arrangement?

Regardless of what the NHL will or won't do in September, the American Hockey League will still be playing. The AHL just released their schedule, and here is the Syracuse Crunch announcement. Link to the actual schedule is within the article. They will play the Norfolk Admirals eight times this coming season.

Over the years I've seen quite a few Wolves games (and 1 Solar Bears). I've traveled to Chicago numerous times and I've also seen them on the road in Cincinnati, Bridgeport, Grand Rapids, Milwaukee, Hersey, San Antonio. I nearly saw them play Phantoms in Philly but it was sold out and I refused to pay for scalped minor league tickets (I attended the Phillies game instead). I'll be taking a hard look at late Feb when the NHL shuts down for 2 weeks. I'd love to a AHL-NCAA-OHL trip this winter if I can swing it.
