KHL's Dynamo Minsk tribute to fellow players and staff of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl lost on September...

KHL's Dynamo Minsk tribute to fellow players and staff of Lokomotiv Yaroslavl lost on September 7th, 2011. At close to 35 minutes in length, it's one of the longer videos we've ever posted, but none have been so appropriate. No need to "front page" this since we've all been hit squarely in the face with bad news far too much in recent weeks. Many thanks to Puck Daddy for the link.

Rambling thoughts on the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl crash

An admittedly rambling, personal post in light of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl tragedy. Citing Tampa Bay Lightning ties and ESPN.com's complete and utter failure to be a "World Wide Leader in Sports" yesterday.

Sunday's notes: Drop the puck, eh?

While the hockey news around Nashville is coming in dribs and drabs, there's plenty going on around the league, as the hockey world braces for the Stanley Cup Final next week.

Wings Assistant Coach McCrimmon Leaving Red Wings, Considered for Head Coaching Positions

"After three seasons as an assistant coach with the Detroit Red Wings, Brad McCrimmon has decided to leave the organization." "McCrimmon also has worked as an assistant coach with the Thrashers, Flames and Islanders, and could be a candidate for any of the five coaching jobs currently open -- Atlanta, New Jersey, Minnesota, Ottawa and Florida." So, I don't really know anything about McCrimmon, but I do know that there has been sentiment on this site for hiring a Red Wings assistant as our head coach. Is McCrimmon good enough? Do you think the fact that he has made himself known to be available for head coaching jobs could influence GMGM's decision-making?
