Mike Fisher has gone toe-to-toe with some stiff competition lately - Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg... and now, Oprah Winfrey. The Nashville Predators' center and his famous wife Carrie Underwood are the subjects of an upcoming episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter".

When it came time to score a winning Christmas gift for his famous wife, the Nashville Predators center got an assist from a local hockey mom.

The addition of Mike Fisher in February was like a shot in the arm for a Predators team which had been decimated down the middle due to injury. Now, the Preds wait for him to recover from off-season shoulder surgery.

At the time of the Mike Fisher trade, many hardcore Nashville Predators fans recoiled at the notion that the deal could be driven by a desire to link the team to country music star Carrie Underwood. But many of her fans have indeed started to follow the team.
