Eight years to the day Darryl Sutter became GM of the Calgary Flames, he has stepped down. Assistant GM Jay Feaster, hired this summer, takes over on an interim basis.
Feaster, of course, ran the Lightning front office from the time of Rick Dudley's resignation in 2002 until his own resignation in the summer of 2008.
Just a heads up on an interview that Cycle Like The Sedins did with me regarding the 2009 NHL draft and the Lightning. From discussing draft steals and blunders (both of which fell into Phil Esposito's lap) to discussing Tavares or Hedman, a lot of bases are covered in the post.
"The Canucks were offered Vincent Lecavalier.
The offer was made in 2006 as Jay Feaster; the general manager for the Tampa Bay Lightning was willing to do almost anything to acquire Roberto Luongo."
